About the successor to the popular iPhone SE we hear more and more recently. This is probably due to the fact that his debut is inexorably approaching. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone SE 2 should arrive in the spring of next year, exactly four years after the premiere of the first generation in the form of the iPhone SE. But as it seems, it will share only a minimum of features with its predecessor.

The new iPhone SE is supposed to offer similar hardware to the latest iPhone 11, i.e. a powerful A13 Bionic processor, which will be complemented by 3 GB of RAM. However, in other aspects, the novelty will be based on the iPhone 8, with which it will share the chassis and therefore also the display size. In the end, it will be an improved "eight" iPhone with a new generation processor and higher memory capacity, which will retain Touch ID, one rear camera and, above all, a 4,7-inch LCD display.

From the aforementioned, it simply follows that the iPhone SE 2 will not retain the much-vaunted compactness that its 4-inch predecessor could boast of. In addition to the designation, the phones will probably share only the price tag – the iPhone SE with 32GB storage started at 12 crowns at the time of its launch.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple should aim the new model mainly at the still relatively large group of iPhone 6 owners, offering them the same size phone with the latest processor, but at an affordable price. Support for iOS 13 and all the news associated with it (Apple Arcade and the like) could also be a certain attraction for users, since the iPhone 6 no longer received support for the new system.

The iPhone SE 2 should also represent an alternative for all those who are not attracted by a dual or triple camera or Face ID and want an affordable iPhone with the original technologies, but with the latest components and therefore with the longest possible lifespan in terms of iOS support.

Originally Speculated iPhone SE 2 Design Based on iPhone X:

The phone should go on sale shortly after its premiere, i.e. in the first quarter of 2020. The price will probably again range between $349 and $399. Apple will logically withdraw the iPhone 8 from the offer, the price of which is currently $449 (64GB model) and therefore would not make sense alongside the iPhone SE. There will be a total of six models on offer – iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone XR, the new iPhone SE 2 and probably the iPhone 8 Plus.
