It took Apple six years to become the number one smartphone seller in the Chinese market again. In this world's largest market, it beat local manufacturers such as Vivo and Oppo, and with a 22% share, it thus owns the majority of the market. In addition, his share will grow. So why should he clear the field?

Of course, Apple does not mention the official numbers, these are based on the company's research Counterpoint. According to him, Apple recorded a monthly growth of 46%. Quite logically, one would like to add. Of course, the introduction of the new iPhone 13 series is to blame, with the fact that, as mentioned in the survey, if the company had not suffered from supply shortages, the growth would have been even stronger.

However, the company owes its success not only to the new iPhones, but also to the extreme decline in the share of Huawei, which of course also benefited local brands such as Vivo and Oppo, which with 20 and 18 percent belong to the second and third places. Huawei is fourth with 8%. The success is all the greater because China is the world's most populous country, so the local market is easily the biggest, even though it only grew by 2% between September and October. During November's "Singles Day," Apple even managed to sell nearly $16 million worth of iPhones in two seconds.

China

Leaving China is unrealistic

Recently, many opinions have been heard about how Apple should leave China, especially in view of the human rights violations there. Of course, the topic is big and serious, but considering the way the company works, it is not realistic for Apple to end its operations here. First of all, of course, it's about money.

Leaving such a large market would not only mean an extreme loss of profits, but the announcement of this fact, however gracious, would also affect the value of the company, as well as the price of its shares, which would have a hard time recovering from this. It is no different in that respect as well, if Apple were to stop taking components from the country, as well as start assembling their devices elsewhere. There are no such capacities anywhere in the world that could handle such an extreme onslaught of demands.

In addition, political and business matters need to be separated. After all, Apple is not to blame for how their government treats the people of China. After all, he sells his products here and has components made for them. Even if the residents are variously exploited by local companies, they are not the company's production plants. He can only threaten, but that's about all he can actually do with it, except for the establishment of various funds.
