James Martin is a Senior Photographer for CNET's foreign server and tested the new iPhone 8 Plus over the weekend. He decided to test the phone very thoroughly from his position in an area that is very close to him - photography. He spent three days traveling around San Francisco and took more than two thousand photos during that time. Different scenery, different light conditions, different exposures. However, the result is said to be worth it, and the photographer was amazed by what the iPhone 8 Plus could do after three days of intensive photography.

From a compositional point of view, the images have basically everything you could want from a new iPhone. Macro photos, portraits, long exposure photos, panoramic landscape photos, night photos and so on. The gallery contains 42 images and they are all worth it. It should be noted that all the images placed in the gallery are exactly in the form in which they were taken with the iPhone. No further editing, no post processing.

In the text, the author praises the cooperation that takes place in the new iPhone between the camera lenses and the A11 Bionic processor. Thanks to its abilities, it helps the limited "performance" of mobile lenses. The images are still not comparable to the images that can be taken with a classic SLR camera, but they are of very high quality for the fact that they come from a phone with two 12MPx lenses.

The sensor(s) are able to capture even the smallest details that are beautifully rendered and capture color depth perfectly, without any sign of distortion or inaccuracies. The iPhone 8 Plus coped well even with images that were taken in poor lighting conditions. Even so, it managed to capture a large amount of detail and the images looked very sharp and natural.

Portrait Mode has come a long way in the year since the iPhone 7 was released, and pictures taken in this mode look really good. Gone are the inaccuracies in software adjustments, the "bokeh" effect is now very natural and accurate. In terms of color rendering, thanks to the intelligent integration of HDR techniques, the iPhone can produce images with vivid and balanced colors. From the reviews so far, the v camera has really done well in the new iPhones, especially the larger model.
