On Wednesday evening, we will definitely know what the new iPhones, Apple TV and probably the new iPads look like. However, we already have a fairly decent idea of at least the form of the latest Apple phones, and a few days before the keynote we get the last details that leak directly from Cupertino. And these also apply to the new, large iPad Pro.

The details of the upcoming products were revealed by none other than the well-informed Mark Gurman of 9to5Mac. Until now, thanks to his sources, we knew about a big update for Apple TV, in the form of the new iPhone 6S and finally—perhaps somewhat surprisingly—too about the iPad Pro, a nearly 13-inch tablet, with which Apple wants to attack primarily the business sphere.

Force Touch as 3D Touch Display

Now Mark Gurman brought more information about one of the biggest innovations that Apple is preparing for the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. Force Touch, as he claimed from the beginning, will indeed get another name on the iPhone - 3D Touch Display. And that's for a simple reason, because the display on the new iPhones recognizes three pressure levels, not just two, as we know from MacBook touchpads or the Watch (tapping/tapping and pressing causes the same reaction).

The 3D Touch Display will actually be the next generation of the previously known Force Touch display. The latter was able to recognize taps and presses, but the new iPhones also recognize even stronger (deeper) presses. 3D in the name, therefore, due to the three dimensions, levels if you will, in which the display can react.

The new functioning of the display thus opens the way for a new way of controlling the operating system and other applications. Contrary to the current functioning of Force Touch, iPhones are supposed to use a pressure-sensitive display especially for various abbreviations.

The 3D Touch Display will certainly also be interesting for developers, especially in games we could expect completely innovative controls. The new display is expected to work in collaboration with the Taptic Engine, which provides haptic feedback in both the Watch and MacBooks.

Really a stylus

3D Touch Display is to appear on Wednesday, not only in iPhones. Apple is also said to be preparing it for its brand new iPad Pro. Its presentation on Wednesday is still not 9% certain, but Gurman's sources claim that we will actually see the expected tablet on September XNUMX.

The iPad Pro is supposed to look like a large iPad Air - only with a larger display with a resolution of 2732 × 2048, around which there will be a thin frame, the same aluminum back with rounded edges, a FaceTime camera in the front, an iSight camera in the back. What will be different, however, is the aforementioned display with 3D Touch technology and, above all, the stylus.

Steve Jobs may have said years ago that "if you see a stylus, it's screwed," but now that the company's co-founder is gone, Apple seems to be planning to actually release a device with a stylus. Respectively, the iPad Pro will continue to be controlled mainly by fingers and the stylus will be offered as an accessory - a there is obviously room for a special pencil.

According to Gurman, it will not be a traditional stylus like most companies offer today, but he does not have more precise information. It should be used primarily for drawing and, thanks to the "three-level" display, bring a new range of uses to the iPad.

The large iPad Pro is also to receive the classic accessories that current iPads have, i.e. Smart Cover, Smart Case, and since the iPad Pro was designed for more efficient use with a keyboard, a new keyboard from Apple is also not ruled out.

The iPad Pro should arrive on the market in November together with iOS 9.1, which will be specially modified for the needs of a larger display.
