We don't know the exact specifications of any of them yet, but it is quite clear that these phones will be the most popular this year, despite all their competition, especially from Chinese brands. Samsung is one of the biggest sellers of smartphones in general, while Apple, on the other hand, sells the most phones of the highest class.

Perhaps it is appropriate to start with who actually rules now? Of course, it depends on what parameters you are looking at. But it is clear that the iPhone 14 Pro has already surpassed Samsung's Galaxy S22 series. He introduced it in February last year and is now preparing for news in the form of the Galaxy S23 series. If we do not count the flexible devices of the South Korean manufacturer, the Galaxy S23 Ultra in particular should be the best that Samsung will show us this year. It is also supposed to compete not only with the iPhone 14 Pro but also with the planned iPhone 15 Pro. This should happen already on February 1.

However, one could say that Apple has an advantage. The advantage is that Samsung more or less responds to what Apple presented in September with the Galaxy S series. Also, in order not to steal attention from his products, he presents his top novelties only at the beginning of the year, knowing that they will simply miss the Christmas season. So this year, Apple didn't even come out twice.

Cameras

Personal preferences for each of the brands aside, it's evident that Samsung is trying, even if it's more about strength in many ways. An iPhone user may not be able to understand what the 108MPx camera in the Galaxy S22 Ultra would be, let alone the 200MPx camera that the Galaxy S23 Ultra should get. On the one hand, Samsung may be unnecessarily artificially increasing the MPx, in order to reduce it on the other hand. His decisions are somewhat strange in this regard, because the selfie camera should instead drop from 40 MPx to just 12 MPx. In this respect, therefore, Apple's approach seems to be moderate and reasonable, and it certainly does not make sense in its eyes to copy Samsung. Apple, on the other hand, will not copy either, because the 200 MPx will look good on paper, regardless of what the final results will be. But it is true that a periscope telephoto lens would also suit iPhones. So far, there is no indication that we should expect it in the iPhone 15 Pro.

Chips

Apple equipped its iPhone 14 Pro with the A16 Bionic chip, whose performance in all directions will certainly be taken to the next level by the A17 Bionic in the iPhone 15 Pro. In this regard, you cannot look for a change in strategy from Apple, because it works for them. However, it is different with Samsung. His Exynos chips in the top models, which he distributed with them mainly to the European market, received considerable criticism. This is also why it will reportedly reach for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip worldwide this year. It will be the best in the field of Android devices, but Apple is somewhere else, further away, and considering the test results of various benchmarks, they don't have to worry much.

Memory

Considering ProRAW photos and ProRes video, the iPhone 128 Pro's 14GB base storage is pretty ridiculous, and if Apple doesn't give the iPhone 15 a base of at least 256GB, it's going to be rightly criticized (again). Perhaps this is what Samsung wants to avoid, and according to all the rumors, it looks like the whole range will have a basic 256GB of storage. But it is likely that this is precisely what he will want to justify the higher price of the basic versions of the device. However, this was also picked up by Apple, but without added value for users.

Other

We had the opportunity to try the curved display of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and it must be said that there is not much to stand for. It really has few added features and the distortion is rather annoying. The S Pen, i.e. Samsung's stylus, has interesting functions. Take the mini Apple Pencil with which you control your iPhone. If this sounds like a good idea, then know that it is really addictive. But since we've been living without it until now, it's not something that the iPhone 15 Pro really needs.
