If you've been following Apple for a few years now, you surely know that until the release of the iPhone XS and XR in 2018, there was no Dual SIM support for Apple phones. This means that you simply could not use all iPhone X or 8 and older models together with two SIM cards. Until now, Dual SIM could be used through one physical nanoSIM slot, along with the option to add an eSIM. However, the possibilities for using two SIM cards have expanded with the introduction of the iPhone 13 (Pro).

The new "thirteens" are the first in history to offer Dual eSIM support - Apple displays this information on the page with the official specifications. This means that you can load two eSIMs into the iPhone 13. Some of you might think after this statement that this eliminates the physical nanoSIM slot, but of course that is not true. You will still be able to use the classic nanoSIM slot. But another question may arise here, namely the support of a kind of "Triple SIM". It makes sense, one SIM placed in the physical slot and two eSIMs in Dual eSIM mode. But in this case I have to disappoint you.

We will not be able to use three SIM cards (for now) on iPhones. Therefore, support for two SIM cards remains, in a total of two "modes". You can use the classic Dual SIM, i.e. you place one SIM card in the physical slot and use the eSIM as the other, or you can use the Dual eSIM, i.e. you load both SIM cards into the eSIM and the physical slot remains empty. In a way, this is a kind of step that may lead us to an iPhone in the future, which will not have any holes or connectors.
