Consumer Reports is a popular site especially in the United States. It rates consumer electronics and regularly compiles rankings and makes recommendations. This year, iPhones are back in the limelight. The Pro version was particularly interesting.

All three new iPhone models made it into the top 10 smartphones. Samsung remained the only strong competitor. The iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone 11 Pro scored the most, taking first and second place, respectively. The cheaper iPhone 11 finished in eighth place.

Consumer Reports tests smartphones in several categories. They don't skip the battery test, either showed the advantages of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max. According to the standardized server test, the iPhone 11 Pro Max lasted a full 40,5 hours, which is a significant increase compared to the iPhone XS Max. He managed to last 29,5 hours in the same test. The smaller iPhone 11 Pro lasted 34 hours, and the iPhone 11 lasted 27,5 hours.

We use a special robotic finger to check the phone's battery life. It controls the phone in a set of pre-programmed tasks that simulate the behavior of a normal user. The robot surfs the Internet, takes photos, navigates via GPS and, of course, calls.

Of course, the editors also judged the quality of the camera, although they did not discuss the area in great depth. We have to make do with the fact that all three new iPhone 11s have received very high ratings and are among the best in their category.

Our testers gave the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max one of the highest ratings in photography. The iPhone 11 also performed well. In the video category, all phones received an "Excellent" grade.

The durability of the phones has also improved. All three models survived the water test, but the smaller iPhone 11 Pro failed the full durability test and broke when dropped.

We repeatedly drop the phone from a height of 76 cm (2,5 feet) in the rotating chamber. Subsequently, the phone is checked after 50 drops and 100 drops. The goal is to expose the smartphone to drops from different angles.

iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max survived 100 drops with minor scratches. iPhone 11 Pro stopped working after 50 drops. The second control sample also broke after 50 drops.

In the overall rating, the iPhone 11 Pro Max took home 95 points, followed by the iPhone 11 Pro with 92 points. The iPhone 11 received 89 points and finished in eighth place.
