As was the case with the 24" iMac, the new iPad Pro (21) goes on sale on Friday, May 2021. However, Apple released the embargo on information about his abilities and skills for a day longer. Now the web is starting to fill up with unboxings, first impressions and reviews of this professional tablet, which contains the same chip as Apple's new computers. Of course, we are talking about the one with the M1 designation. If we then look at the larger 12,9" variant, it also stands out compared to the smaller 11" model with its display, which is micro-LED technology. However, there is also a lot of talk about a camera with a centering function.

According to the magazine The Verge you should ask yourself only one question: "How much do you care about display quality?" The one on the larger model is so great that it is listed as the best thing for watching content after (even) a high-end TV. Apart from the display, of course, I also like the speed with the M1 chip and the camera function that focuses the shot on you. But they don't like its location, and above all the limitations resulting from iPadOS.

Gizmondo states that the 12,9” iPad Pro is literally an incredible device that is as powerful as it gets. It is even said to be a whole light year further than last year's model. The statement of the editors is clear in this regard: "There is simply no better tablet on the market." But there are also minor complaints. These are aimed at the battery life, which is an hour lower than in last year's model, and again the already mentioned location of the camera or limitations arising from the system. This is also why there is no clear answer to the question of whether it is an ideal machine for full-fledged work. CNBS mentions right in the title that it is an extraordinary machine with extraordinary performance and display, but for most users, the iPad Air is still a better solution. The upgrade is aimed more at advanced users who use the iPad as a portable accessory to their Mac. It has a number of features that although you won't get an Air in the iPad, the editor stands behind the motto that the Air, which is significantly cheaper, will be a better solution for most people.

Egadget has a few gripes with the M1 chip's performance, noting that the shift isn't as huge as you'd expect. And that may be the problem, because everyone has high expectations. Last year's model clocked in at 14 minutes and 20 seconds for the same video export process, the new one was just 8 seconds faster in the same process. ZD Net comments in particular on the RAM memory that was available in the 16 GB model. As expected, the iPad does not need to reload apps or web pages in Safari. Everything is immediately ready to work without the need for a refresh.
