Even before Apple released the first beta of the new iOS 4.3, the number one topic was the iPad 2. Almost everyone speculated about its appearance and features. The new operating system makes all of this a bit clearer for us. In several documents of the new iOS 4.3 SDK, the presence of FaceTime or the same resolution as the old model is probably confirmed.

It was FaceTime and the resolution of the second-generation iPad that were the most discussed topics, and most bloggers and journalists agreed that this is exactly what the new iPad will have. To be precise, they mostly agreed on the resolution that it will be higher than the current model. But while the presence of cameras for video calls seems to be a done deal, a higher resolution probably won't be.

The resolution of the iPad 2, if we call it that, should remain 1024 x 768. So it will probably be the same as the current model. At the same time, most of the speculation constantly revolved around how Apple is going to implement a Retina display in its new device - like the one on the iPhone. I personally didn't believe it at all. In addition, several things spoke against it - the iPad's hardware would hardly handle such a resolution, and developers would have to re-optimize their applications. And last but not least, the technology would probably be too expensive for a 2-inch screen. Even these arguments did not stop the majority of speculations and the news "Retina display in iPad XNUMX" spread like a hurricane around the world.

If not a Retina display, there was a possibility that Apple could at least increase the pixel density. That most likely won't happen either. And why? Again, it's about applications that would have to be redesigned.

Regarding the iPad 2, there is also one completely unconfirmed news that concerns the start of its sales. According to of the German server Macnotes.de in the US, the iPad 2 will go on sale on the first or second Saturday of April, i.e. on April 2 or 9. “A reliable source told us that the Apple iPad 2 will go on sale on April 2nd or 9th. It will be sold only in the US for the first three months, and only in Apple Stores for the first six months. In July, the iPad should reach other countries, and retail chains such as Walmart or Best Buy may have to wait until October." it is on the German website. This scenario is likely because the first iPad took the same route. On January 27, it will be exactly one year since it was presented in Cupertino. So will we see the introduction of the second generation at the end of January?
