Every day, in this column, we will bring you a more detailed look at a selected application that has just caught our attention. Here you will find applications for productivity, creativity, utilities, but also games. It won't always be the hottest news, our goal is primarily to highlight apps that we think are worth paying attention to. Today we're going to introduce you to the Sleep Cycle app.

I'll admit that I'm a little obsessed with sleep monitoring apps. Back when my companion was the HTC Desire smartphone, I couldn't let go of the great Sleep As An Droid by Petr Nálevka, and since the transition to a bitten apple I've searched in vain for anything that would resemble "Droid" as much as possible. Instead of its faithful iOS alternative, I came across Sleep Cycle, and although this application also has its flaws, I am very satisfied with it.

Sleep Cycle is a smart alarm clock, promising a discreet and as natural as possible awakening at the moment when your sleep is the lightest. In addition to being able to wake you up almost painlessly, Sleep Cycle offers the possibility of entering additional data about the circumstances of your sleep, based on which it then produces interesting graphs and analyses. In addition to manually entered data that you can manage yourself (circumstances such as exercise, increased caffeine or alcohol intake, or the absence of medication), Sleep Cycle also works with data about the weather or the moon phase - so you can see for yourself whether the full moon has a real impact on the quality of your sleep sleep.

Sleep Cycle can wake you up with either preset tunes or your own songs from iTunes or Apple Music. Of course, there is connectivity with HealthKit and the version for Apple Watch, the application also offers the possibility of monitoring sleep without the need to wake up and detect snoring. Owners of the Philips Hue lighting system will certainly appreciate the option of connecting to an application, where you will be woken up by lights in addition to sound. Interesting statistics and other information can be found at website of the creators of the application.

You can use the application either in the basic free version or with a monthly, quarterly or annual subscription (119,-/229,-/709,-)
