Journaling doesn't have to be just a compulsory girls' school pastime. It is used, for example, by people who want to achieve any goal in their life, map their mood changes, record their observations from their travels, or perhaps remind themselves every day what they are grateful for. One of the applications for writing a diary is Grid Diary, which we will introduce in today's article.

Appearance

If you are new to Grid Diary, you will first be greeted with an overview of the basic functions along with a short questionnaire. If you want to create an account in Grid Diary, you can use the Sign in with Apple function. After logging in, you will be shown a screen in the upper part of which is a panel with options for synchronizing and setting widgets and other functions. In the middle part of the display you will find a bar with an overview of individual days, below this panel there are previews of your diaries. At the very bottom of the display, you will find a panel with buttons to go to the timeline display, to the calendar, to the search and to the profile settings, where you can choose a paid membership, templates for diaries, quotes, or make more advanced settings.

Function

Depending on the purpose of keeping the diary you entered at the beginning, the first time you open the diary for entry, you will see the basic sections - but you can change them as you like. You can edit the text, change its size, font, arrangement and other parameters. Various attachments can also be added to the entries. You can switch between individual sections with the arrows above the keyboard. You can add stickers and labels to individual entries for a better overview. As the name suggests, the diary entries in the Grid Diary application are arranged in grids - you can customize them as you like, change their appearance, size and number. You can also add entries to the application retrospectively. Data can be exported from Grid Diary, added to the application from other sources, and backups can be imported and exported. Similar to most current applications in the App Store, Grid Diary offers a basic limited version for free (but it is sufficient for basic needs and will absolutely not limit you in writing as such), for 69 crowns a month it offers functions such as an unlimited number of entries, integration with Apple Health , an unlimited number of attachments, export to PDF, the possibility of security with a number lock, more editing and customization options and other benefits. In the future, the creators of the application plan to introduce end-to-end encryption or perhaps create a version of Grid Diary for Mac.

Finally

Grid Diary is a clear, simple, elegant looking diary app. Its advantage is a relatively rich selection of functions even in the basic version, as well as a sympathetically low subscription price.
