If you want to try calligraphy yourself, but you don't want to invest in brushes, pens, paints and paper right away, you can try the Callicreative application, which, although it probably won't turn you into a professional calligraphy artist, can entertain you, improve your skills and teach you something new.

Callicreative is a simple application especially suitable for mastering the absolute basics of creative work with the Apple Pencil and iPad and clarifying for the future what you actually want to do and what you require from a similar, more professionally oriented application. However, you can also draw and write with your finger in Callicreative. The application offers a mode for practicing lines and fonts, a relaxing part for "outlining images and templates" and a freehand mode, which will serve as a virtual sketchbook. You can choose from several pens and markers, several solid colors and erasers.
