Although it was in the new iOS 9 introduced many new interesting features, users mainly call for better management and greater battery efficiency. Apple has worked on this area as well, and in iOS 9 it brings news to increase the battery life of iPhones and iPads.
Apple began to push developers to optimize their application coding towards lower consumption requirements. Apple engineers themselves have improved the behavior of iOS, in the new version the iPhone's screen will not light up when the notification is received, if the screen is placed face down, because the user cannot see it anyway.
Thanks to the new menu, you will also have control and an overview of what consumes the battery the most, how long you have used each application and what exactly the application is doing in the background. Some optimization methods even leave more demanding tasks in the application until the time when you are connected to Wi-Fi or perhaps charging. If the application is not in use, it will go into a kind of "absolutely power saving" mode to save the battery as much as possible.
According to Apple itself, iOS 9 will already perform excellently on existing devices, where the battery should drain at least one hour later without any hardware intervention. We will probably not see how the saving innovations in iOS 9 will work in practice until the fall. So far, according to the responses of those who are already testing the new system, the first beta version eats up the battery even more than iOS 8. But this is normal during development.
Continuity will now work even without Wi-Fi
The Continuity function does not need a long introduction - it is, for example, the ability to receive calls from an iPhone on a Mac, iPad or Watch. Until now, transferring calls from one device to another only worked when they were all connected to the same Wi-Fi network. However, this will change with the arrival of iOS 9.
Apple did not say it during the keynote, but the American operator T-Mobile revealed for him that call forwarding within Continuity will not require Wi-Fi, it will run over the mobile network. T-Mobile is the first operator to support this new feature, and it can be expected that other operators will follow.
Working with Continuity over the cellular network has one big advantage – even if you don't have your phone at hand, you'll still be able to receive a call on your iPad, Mac or watch, as it will be an Apple ID-based connection. We will have to wait for some time to see what the situation will be in the Czech Republic.
They could also make phone calls on an iPad with a sim card. I also leave the iPad at home, I have an iMac at work and I can make calls through the iPad and they can also call me.
Stupidity, if you want to call from the iPad, so are Face Time or FT Audio.
But FT only works between Apple devices and only over the Internet.
I wrote about the fact that I have an iPad with a sim card and if someone calls that number, I can take the call via Continuity even if I have an iPad at home and I'm at work, where I have an iMac or a Macbook.
I also have an iPad with a SIM card. There is only an LTE tariff on the card and I don't give the number to anyone, simple as that. iPad is not a phone.
Even with the Ipad Air 5, it will be able to make phone calls and it will again be a "super novelty" like splitscreen and so on, which was useless until now, but with iOS 9 it makes sense...
It wasn't useless, rather iOS wasn't ready for it...
It should be noted that I'm probably going to say a cliché, but I was able to function without it, but that begs for the iOve label :-(
GSM calls on the iPad are off topic. As for IOS, get used to the fact that Apple adds functions gradually and slowly. See Steve Jobs by Walter Isacson.
PERFECTION!
I don't know if it's a good attack over the mobile network, so that someone doesn't abuse it.
Oh man, do you think he's smarter than the CEO of Apple?
Of course not, but you know, people are resourceful :)
I always looked forward to the new ios. Now I'm looking forward to having 9 soon after getting ios10!!! Yes, I immediately buy lumii with win10
I already have my teeth full of Apple
Interesting things are coming, I'm mainly curious how the developers deal with ODR (On-Demand Resources), the core of the application will be downloaded and the rest will be downloaded while playing, or if there is no space on the device, the cache will be wiped :-)
I also wonder if it will work with all applications, or only with some native ones that will support it.
Unfortunately, that's up to developers, Apple has made it available to them. See:
