One of the most well-regarded aspects of the iOS operating system is certainly its consistency across all the devices that use it. Thus, when purchasing, customers do not have to think too much about how long the current software will be available on their iOS device, and developers, in turn, about which version of the operating system to primarily optimize their application for.

iOS 9 maintains this state. Although the growth of the number of iOS devices with the ninth version of the operating system stagnated last month, it has continued since then. iOS 9 is currently on 84 percent of active iOS devices. Eleven percent of users are still using iOS 8 and five percent are using older versions. At the beginning of the year iOS 9 was at 75%, occurred in February for an increase of two percentage points.

The recent launch of the iPhone SE and the 9-inch iPad Pro is also likely to have contributed to the re-acceleration of iOS 9,7 device growth. Older versions of iOS cannot be installed on both, or they come with the latest ones.

By the time iOS 10 is unveiled at WWDC in June, iOS 9 can be expected to be on about 90 percent of active iOS devices, similar to what it was before.

In connection with the upcoming presentation of iOS 10 web 9to5Mac in its access statistics, it noted that the number of devices with iOS 10, which Apple traditionally tests, has increased significantly in the last two months.
