When iOS 7 was released, we heard the voices of many disgruntled users who refused to update to the latest version. They did not like the new system and it did not meet their expectations. iOS 7.1 fixed a lot, Older devices became significantly faster, the system stopped restarting on its own, and Apple fixed a lot of bugs. In less than two months, a new version of the iOS 8 operating system will also be introduced. As of April 6, however, the current system recorded the highest share among iOS devices.

According to Apple's measurements published on developer portal, 7% of all Apple mobile devices have iOS 87 installed. In four months from last published measurementí iOS 7 improved by thirteen percentage points. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't say what percentage its big 7.1 update represents. Either way, it's an impressive number, especially when we consider that iOS 6 accounts for only 11% and older versions of the system only 2%. Many developers have already released updates requiring iOS 7 or higher, and this is a clear indication that they have bet on the right card.

And how is competing Android doing? Google updated data regarding its mobile operating system on April 1, and it shows that the latest Android 4.4 KitKat is currently running on 5,3% of devices. However, KitKat was introduced less than five months later than iOS 7. Currently, the most widespread is Jelly Bean in versions 4.1 - 4.3, which occupies 61,4% of all versions of the operating system, however, there is a gap of one year between these three versions.
