The native Magnifier application is part of the iOS operating system, but it is somehow hidden from the eyes of users. This means that you won't find it natively, classically within applications, but you have to add it, either through the application library or Spotlight. As the name suggests, this application serves as a magnifying glass, thanks to which you can zoom in on anything using your iPhone's camera. The zoom itself is of course also possible within the Camera, but it does not allow you to zoom in as much as the Magnifier. As part of the new iOS 16 operating system, Apple decided to slightly improve the Magnifier application, and in this article we will see what it came up with.

iOS 16: How to save and use custom presets in Magnifier

If you have ever used the Magnifier, you surely know that in addition to the zoom function, there are also options that allow you to change the view. Specifically, you can control, for example, exposure and contrast, set filters and more. Every time you reset the Magnifier in any way and then exit the application, it will reset after restarting. However, in iOS 16, users can save their own presets, so if you frequently make similar changes, it will only take a few taps to load them. To save a preset, proceed as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the app on your iPhone Magnifying glass.
  • Once you've done that, adjust the view as needed to save it.
  • Subsequently, after setting, click on the bottom left gear icon.
  • This will bring up a menu where you press the option Save as new activity.
  • Then a new window will open where you can choose the name of a specific preset.
  • Finally, just click the button Done to save presets.

So, using the above procedure, it is possible to save a custom display preset in the Magnifier app on your iOS 16 iPhone. Of course, you can create more of these presets, which can come in handy. You can then activate individual views by clicking on at the bottom left gear, where at the top of the menu press selected preset. To remove a preset, also click on the bottom left gear icon, then select from the menu Settings…, and then unclick at the bottom Activities, where changes can be made.
