Apple provides a native Mail app to manage your email inboxes. This client suits many users because it is easy to use. But the truth is that as for some of the basic functions offered by alternative third-party clients these days, those are missing in Mail. But the good news is that Apple is aware of this and is constantly trying to improve the Mail app with updates. We also received several new functions with the arrival of the iOS and iPadOS 16 and macOS 13 Ventura systems, which are still available in beta versions for the time being.

iOS 16: How to schedule an email to be sent

One of the new features that have been added with the aforementioned system updates is the ability to schedule an email to be sent. This can be useful in several situations, for example, if you often sit down to your e-mail box late in the evening or at night and do not want to send messages that late, or if you want to prepare an e-mail and cannot forget to send it. If you are interested in this feature, which is already common in third-party mail applications, you can use it in iOS 16 as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the app on your iPhone Mail
  • Once you've done that, either go to the pro interface new email, or to an e-mail answer.
  • Subsequently, in the classic way fill in the details in the form of recipient, subject and content of the message.
  • Then in the upper right corner hold your finger on the arrow icon, which the e-mail is sent.
  • This will display after holding menu in which you can already set the schedule.

So, using the above procedure, it is possible to schedule an email to be sent on your iOS 16 iPhone within the native Mail app. In the mentioned menu, you can either simply choose from two predefined scheduling options, or you can of course tap on Send later… and choose exact day and time, when you want to send the email. Once you have set the date and time, tap on Done at the top right to schedule. It should be mentioned that you can now also cancel the sending of the message you just sent in Mail for 10 seconds by tapping Cancel sending at the bottom of the screen.
