Apart from new functions, the iOS 14 system also brought modifications to some existing ones. The most disputed one related to the choice of time, whether in the Alarm Clock or Calendar or Reminders and others. Users were confused and definitely didn't like the news. Apple heard these complaints and in iOS 15 brought back the ability to enter numerical values related to time using a rotating dial.

Many users found choosing the time in iOS 14 less convenient and certainly not as intuitive as entering values by dragging a finger along the displayed time scale to determine the exact time, as was the case before iOS 14. However, several factors could be responsible for this. The first was the need to hit a small window of time, the second was the meaning of entering it. It was no problem to enter 25 hours and 87 minutes, and the correct calculation was subsequently made. But even if you entered the hours, they started writing instead of minutes.

Good old time entry is back

If you update your iPhones to iOS 15 (or iPadOS 15), you'll get back the spin wheel with numeric values, but it's not the same as in iOS 13 and earlier. It is now possible to determine the time in two ways. The first is by rotating the displayed values, the second is taken from iOS 14, i.e. by specifying on the numeric keypad. To be able to do so is enough tap on the time input field, which will then show you a keyboard with numbers.

Apple thereby caters to both groups of users - those who hated the time input process in iOS 14, and those who, on the contrary, got used to it. In any case, there is still the possibility of entering meaningless times. In the case of third-party application developers, it is then necessary to wait for their update, because as you can see in the gallery, the numeric keypad completely covers the space for entering the time and you have to determine it blindly.
