We have known the form of iOS 15 since June, when Apple revealed it as part of its WWDC21 conference. We then received the sharp version in September, while the first major update to iOS 15.1 came in October. Even though it has caught up, we still can't use all the new features that Apple actually presented to us. However, many should be corrected by the update to version 15.2, which Apple has already sent to developers for testing.

The sharp version of iOS 15 brought the Focus mode, the Live Text function, improved Safari, Messages, Notifications or Spotlight. However, many features that Apple mentioned during WWDC21 did not come with the sharp version. This is also why with iOS 15.1 we saw the SharePlay function in particular, iPhones 13 Pro then received the announced ProRes mode or the option to disable macro switching in the camera. But there is still room for other essentials, which we have known about for quite some time, but we cannot enjoy them.

However, Apple has currently sent the second beta version of iOS 15.2 to developers, which will indeed bring many of the promised features. One of the important ones is Hide my email. This is a feature of iCloud+ subscribers that allows them to keep their personal email address private by creating a random, unique address. Meanwhile, iOS 15.2 beta 2 makes it possible to use the Hide My Email feature directly from the default Mail app. When writing a new email, you simply tap the field Od and select Hide my email, to generate a random address that will be forwarded to your real personal email inbox.

Referred contacts

Legacy Contacts were available to iOS 15 beta users until its fourth release, but Apple removed them after that. It's basically a way to give close and trusted friends access to your data in the unfortunate event of death. These pre-approved contacts have access to your complete account data and can download photos, notes, videos, documents and more. Even this previously announced novelty will come with iOS 15.2.

The Find app gets the ability to proactively search for unknown AirTags that may be tracking you without having to wait for the security reporting feature to fire. As Apple notes, AirTags can only be discovered if they are not within range of their owner's device, i.e. they are at least 50 meters away from it. This way you won't get false reports if someone just "approaches" you with their AirTag.

With the autumn update of Apple's systems, a new load of emoticons comes regularly. So as soon as the update is available, we will also see their expansion. It is not yet known when that will happen, but Apple could still do it before the end of November.
