We saw the introduction of new operating systems, led by iOS 15, several long weeks ago, specifically at the WWDC21 developer conference. Immediately after the end of the initial presentation, Apple launched the first developer beta versions of the new systems into the world, a little later the public beta versions were also released. Currently, the third developer beta version is "out", along with the second public beta versions. As usual, beta versions contain several different bugs. Recently, a bug in iOS 15 that causes slow internet is starting to spread more and more.

iOS 15: Do you have slow internet? Deactivate this feature

If you also found yourself in a situation where you experienced slow internet on an iPhone with iOS 15 installed, or if in certain cases you failed to load some pages at all, then believe me you are not alone. More and more users are starting to struggle with slow internet in iOS 15, and even I have already appeared on the imaginary list of these users. As part of beta versions, of course, you must expect various errors - sometimes the errors are serious, other times not. This error that causes slow internet is relatively serious, but on the other hand, there is a simple solution. Just deactivate the Private Relay function as follows:

  • First, on your iOS 15 iPhone, go to the native app Settings.
  • Then tap at the top of the screen line with your profile.
  • Once you've done that, find and click on the line with the name iCloud.
  • Then open the box under the iCloud storage usage graph Private Relay.
  • Here, you just need to use the switch to perform deactivation of Private Relay.
  • Finally, just confirm the action by tapping on Turn off Private Relay.

Private Relay is a feature added to iCloud+ that takes care of better protecting your privacy on the Internet. Private Relay can hide your IP address, along with other information, from providers and websites. in addition, there is also a change in location so that you cannot be identified when using Private Relay. However, in order for Apple to achieve these functions, it must route your Internet connection through several proxy servers, which will take care of hiding all your sensitive data. The problem arises if these servers are overloaded - there are more and more users with new systems and Apple was probably not prepared for such an onslaught. But it is more than likely that we will see a solution to this problem before the public release.
