Not even two weeks have passed since the sale of Apple's AirTag locator began, and already news is spreading on the Internet about its upcoming software improvement that will come with the iOS 14.6 operating system. Today, Apple released the third developer beta version of this system revealing an interesting new feature. Although, according to the information so far, it seems that iOS 14.6 will not bring many goodies compared to 14.5, it will certainly please at least some of the owners of AirTags. The changes specifically affect the product in lost mode - Lost.

Scratched AirTag

As soon as you lose your AirTag, you must mark it as lost through the native Find application. Subsequently, the product is in the aforementioned Lost mode, and if anyone finds it and places a phone next to it that connects to the locator via NFC, the owner's phone number and the message they choose when the mode is activated will be displayed. And this is exactly where Apple intends to add. In the new version of the iOS operating system, Apple users will be able to choose whether they want to share their phone number or email address with the finder. For the time being, however, it is not possible for others to display both the number and the address at the same time, which in theory could significantly help to better find the owner.

You might be wondering when Apple is going to release iOS 14.6 to the public. Of course, no one, except the Cupertino company, can confirm this 100% for now. But most often they talk about the beginning of June, specifically on the occasion of the developer conference WWDC. In addition, new operating systems will be revealed to us during it.
