The iOS user interface has changed quite significantly in recent years, with the biggest change coming with the advent of flat design. Nevertheless, Apple has left some elements almost unchanged since the first iPhone or iPhone OS 1.0. One of them is the indicator that appears when adjusting the volume and which, among other things, is one of the most frequent targets of critics. However, with the arrival of iOS 13, its appearance should change, and designer Leó Vallet now shows how the redesigned element could look.

In fact, since last year, Apple has been testing the new iOS 13 among selected developers, among other things they prove statistics from Google Analytics. Some developers already know basically all the functions that the new generation of the system will bring. According to Max Weinbach one of the novelties should relate to the user interface, specifically, according to information, Apple has redesigned the element displaying the current volume (the so-called HUD). It is unnecessarily large in the current iOS 12, it covers the content and therefore the application (for example Instagram) tries to eliminate it and comes up with its own solution.

And the designer also thought of the new current volume indicator Leo Vallet in the design of his iOS 13 concept. In addition to the mentioned element, he depicted several functions that the system could bring. There is, for example, Dark Mode, a redesigned control center connected to the application switcher, a more user-friendly connection to Wi-Fi, support for external displays on the iPad, an element for more convenient connection of peripherals such as a Magic Keyboard or even a Magic Mouse, an improved Handoff function or a new screen for locked devices through Find My iPhone.

Minimalistic volume indicator design and other new features in iOS 13:

iOS 13 should be shown to the public for the first time at WWDC, which will take place between June 3 and 7. From its premiere, it will be available to all developers, later to public testers, and in the fall it should traditionally be released to regular users. The main novelties of the system should include Dark Mode, a redesigned home screen, new multitasking options, longer Live Photos, a modified Files application, and finally, above all, the Marzipan project, which will enable the unification of iOS and macOS applications. iPad-specific features can also be expected.
