Apple today presented the next generation of its mobile operating system at WWDC. Although it is the new iOS 13 only available to developers for now, we already know the full list of devices it will support. This year, Apple cut off two generations of iPhones.

First of all, it should be noted that iOS 13 is no longer available for iPads. Tablets from Apple have received their own operating system, which is now referred to as iPadOS. Of course, it is built on the basis of iOS 13 and therefore offers the same news, but it also has several additional specific functions.

As for iPhones, owners of the iPhone 5s, which will celebrate its sixth birthday this year, will no longer install the new system. Given the phone's age, the cancellation of support is understandable. However, Apple also discontinued the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which were a year younger, and therefore stopped supporting two generations of iPhones. In the case of iPods, the 6th generation iPod touch lost support, and iOS 13 can only be installed on the recently introduced seventh generation iPod touch.

You will install iOS 13 on these devices:

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPod touch (7th generation)
