Among the developers on Monday they arrived already the fifth beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS and tvOS 13. These correspond to the fourth public betas of the systems that Apple released yesterday for testers from among ordinary users who signed up for the Beta Software program. Like the previous updates, the new ones also bring some interesting news that are worth mentioning. Therefore, we will introduce them in the following lines.

Surprisingly, the most interesting changes took place within iPadOS, where undoubtedly the most fundamental innovation is the ability to change the layout of the icons on the home screen. However, even the operating system for iPhones has received a few new functions, which mainly concern the user interface. In many raids, these are rather partial changes, but they are still welcome.

What's new in iOS 13 and iPadOS beta 5:

  1. On the iPad, you can now customize the layout of the icons on the home screen. The new 6x5 layout is referred to as "more" and when selected, 30 icons can fit on one screen. The original 4x5 layout is now labeled "larger" and will fit 20 icons on the screen when selected.
  2. After connecting the mouse to the iPad, you can further reduce the size of the cursor in the settings.
  3. On iPadOS, multiple widgets can be pinned to the home screen (up until now, a maximum of 2 could be pinned).
  4. The option to reopen closed application windows in Expose mode (all windows of one application next to each other) has been added to the system for iPads.
  5. If you have multiple Safari windows open on your iPad, you can now merge them all into one.
  6. The interface for sharing content has received a new design. Individual items are grouped into sections, while it is possible to select favorites from them and place them at the top of the list, including now also shortcuts.
  7. The volume indicator is narrower and now supports haptic feedback.
  8. The volume control through the buttons has several levels (for a more significant decrease/increase of the volume, you need to press the button several times).
  9. Dark Mode can now be enabled/disabled by triple pressing the side button (the option must first be set in Accessibility).
  10. The "Open in new tab" button has returned to Safari.
  11. New awards have been added to the Activity app for meeting over 1 physical activity goals.
  12. There are several new wallpapers available in the Home app.
  13. The screenshots have newly rounded corners and thus copy the rounded display of newer iPhones.
  14. When you take a screenshot, the volume indicator will automatically hide (if active).
  15. The Automation section has temporarily disappeared from the Shortcuts app.
