One of the many advantages of connected cars is the fact that you can manage them remotely. For example, BMW vintageu 2014 and later offers the ConnectedDrive service, thanks to which you can remotely activate the heating or air conditioning, so even in bad weather, you will immediately feel comfortable in your car. In addition, you can check the fuel or battery status or your car localize. Last but not least, you can use the application to unlock, lock or share data from mobile maps.

So far, these gadgets bylo the need to use dedicated apps from car manufacturers, thanks to the upcoming iOS 13.4 update but for them can at least lighten the situation a bit. A new feature is hidden inside the newly released developer beta carkey, with which you will be able to unlock, lock or directly start your car using NFC, provided that your car supports the CarPlay function.

Simply hold your iPhone or Apple Watch to the door to unlock and lock the driver, it does not even require Face ID on the iPhone, so you can use the function even if your battery is low. However, this setting can be changed at any time. The iPhone is paired with the car using the NFC reader in the car and the Wallet application. After the initial pairing with the iPhone, the data automatically synchronizeí with Apple Watch. Another interesting feature is the possibility to share your car key with other people, e.g. your wife or other family members.

This is a further extension of the platform  CarPlay, which was first announced as iOS in the Car at WWDC 2013. A few months later, the feature was renamed to CarPlay, and Apple announced the first manufacturer supporting the new interface at the Geneva trade show, jas he wasi Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Later, the function was extended to other brands, including BMW, whicheré initially rejected this function. Today, the feature is even supported on motorcycles including the Honda Gold Wing or Harley-Davidson Touring.
