New indications suggest that Apple will release a new iOS 13.3 this week. The third iOS 13 primary update in a row will bring several new features and, of course, also the expected bug fixes. Along with it, watchOS 6.1.1 will also be made available to regular users.

The early release of iOS 13.3 was confirmed over the weekend by Vietnamese operator Viettel, which is launching eSIM support on Friday, December 13. IN document to the service describes to its customers how to set up eSIM and also warns them that they must have iOS 13.3 installed on their iPhone and watchOS 6.1.1 on their Apple Watch. This confirms that Apple will make both systems available this week.

Updates will most likely come out on Tuesday or Wednesday. Apple usually chooses these days of the week to release new versions of its operating systems. So we can expect iOS 13.3 and watchOS 6.1.1 by December 11. The new iPadOS 13.3, tvOS 13.3 and macOS Catalina 10.15.2 will probably be released alongside them. All the listed systems are in the same (fourth) phase of beta testing and are currently available to developers and public testers.

What's new in iOS 13.3

The Screen Time function has been improved in iOS 13.3, which allows you to set limits for calls and messages. Parents will thus be able to choose which contacts they can communicate with on their children's phones, whether through the Phone application, Messages or FaceTime (calls to emergency services numbers will always be automatically allowed). In addition, contacts can be selected for both classic and quiet time, which users usually set for the evening and night. Along with this, parents can prohibit editing of created contacts. And a feature has also been added that allows or disables adding a child to a group chat.

In iOS 13.3, Apple will also allow you to remove Memoji and Animoji keyboard stickers, which were added with iOS 13 and users often complained about the lack of an option to disable them. So Apple finally listened to the complaints of its customers and added a new switch to Settings -> Keyboard to remove the Memoji stickers from the left side of the emoticon keyboard.

This is one of the last major news related to Safari. The native browser now supports physical FIDO2 security keys connected via Lightning, USB or read via NFC.
