Apple earlier this week released iOS 12 for the public, so they can fully enjoy the new features that the months-in-the-making operating system brings. This is mainly about improved optimization and running on older devices, which many users will certainly appreciate. However, the first data on the prevalence of the new system show that the arrival of iOS 12 is not as fast as one might expect. In fact, it is the slowest of the last three versions of iOS so far.
Analytics company Mixpanel focused this year, as every year, on tracking the extensibility of the new iOS. Every day it makes statistics on how many devices the new product is installed on and compares it with previous versions from the past. According to the latest data, it seems that the adoption of iOS 12 is significantly slower than it was last year and the year before. iOS 10 managed to surpass the 12% device target only after 48 hours. The previous iOS 11 needed about half that, iOS 10 was even slightly better. From this data, it can be seen that the speed of users switching to a new operating system is slower year by year.
In this year's case, it's really surprising, because many consider iOS 12 to be one of the best operating systems that Apple has released for its iPhones and iPads. Although it does not bring too much news, the already mentioned optimizations literally extend the life of some older devices that would otherwise be at the limit of usability.
The reason for the cautious transition to the new system may be that many users remember the transition from last year, when iOS 11 was literally full of bugs and inconveniences in the first months. So many users are probably delaying the update for fear that the same thing won't happen this year. If you belong to this group, definitely do not hesitate to update. Especially if you have an older iPhone or iPad. iOS 12 is perfectly usable in its current state and will inject new blood into the veins of older machines.
If by chance it is not because it prevails, despite all the praise, fear and experience with past versions :-)
I can confirm, iOS 12 is super debugged. When I remember how nervous I was a year ago, when nothing worked and what worked was slow... even the last update 11 didn't solve the problems with touch 3d, when I couldn't quickly call the default numbers, which was great before. The new iOS solved all the problems, in short, it's great, I'm absolutely satisfied. The iPhone 6s is as good as it was when it was new with iOS 9. I'm still very satisfied.
And isn't it because the older devices have been receiving updates for x years, but with the latest ones they are at the limit, well beyond it, of usability? IPad mini 1 is nice that it still got iOS 9, but with the latest version 9.3.5. It is completely useless. It keeps getting stuck, approx. it will restart immediately. Well, I have great support, but it's just been lying around for several years.
I personally updated everything right away. The only ones that don't work well for me are notifications on AW from the mail application. My watch is set to Mirror my iPhone. Viber, iMessage everything works fine. But nothing from the email. Notifications and 2 old emails appear on the iPhone. I don't see where I am wrong. Can someone help me? Thanks
So I don't see the difference https://youtu.be/A-NQi6c1oHE
Yes, something is perhaps faster, but something is slower.
The past advises that the new iOS will definitely not be installed by Christmas and the fact that this year may be an exception will not teach people.
I need them to IMMEDIATELY fix that bug in the keyboard layout on the iPad where they swapped the punctuation and emoji keys. Who released this into the world, strangle. That's probably not possible. On the iPhone, it's old, pay. Am I typing emoji instead of punctuation? for example a hobby? or a bee. A bastard. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5dd8081b3caf131b9528a5fa0285f305805c2336d5b4072fb36377640a73b04d.jpg
Hello, after switching to iOS 12, suddenly we can't see a single phone in iTunes... ??
Does anyone have a similar experience? What with this?
Well, the iPhone is fine, but the iPad says even after the 12th download that there was an error during the download and it turns off.
Question: Have they finally added a prediction (whisperer) to the Czech keyboard like the native EN keyboard has, or will users still have to type letter by letter like in prehistoric times (or how idiots after buying a device for 30 liters still have to figure out where to find a reasonable keyboard)?
