Dan Pražák Apple released the eleventh iOS 12 beta last night. The newest operating system for iPhones and iPads thus becomes the record holder for the number of beta versions. Although there are only about two weeks left until the release of the Golden Master (GM) version, iOS 12 beta 11 still contains several interesting new features that we will introduce today.
The update can be downloaded by registered developers and public testers at Settings -> In general -> updates software. However, they must have the appropriate beta profile on their device. Otherwise, they can download everything they need in Apple Developer Center or respective pages. In the case of the iPhone X, the size of the installation package reads equal to 78 MB.
Along with iOS 12 beta 11, Apple also released the ninth beta versions of macOS Mojave and tvOS 12, both for developers and public testers.
List of new features in iOS 12 beta 11:
- Deleting all notifications at once works now even on all iPhones without 3D Touch (just hold your finger on the cross icon).
- NFC can now also be used for easy connection to selected speakers (just place the iPhone on the speaker and the devices will be paired instantly).
- In the App Store, it is now possible to view all applications and games from one developer (until now, the corresponding button was missing)
- Improved, more detailed maps expanded to cover a larger area of the US.
- The process of connecting several HomePods at once is noticeably faster.
- When playing music on multiple HomePods, it's now much easier to compare the volume of one speaker to the others.
- After connecting the HomePod, the volume will now be set to the new default value (around 65%).
