At the end of last week, we wrote about how the new iOS 11 is doing in terms of the number of installations in the first twenty-four hours after its release. The result was definitely not satisfactory, as it was nowhere near what iOS 10 achieved last year. You can read the whole article here. Last night, another very interesting statistic appeared on the web, which looks at the "adoption rate" on a weekly basis. Even now, a week after the release of iOS 11, the novelty is not doing as well as its predecessor. However, the difference is no longer so noticeable.

In the first week since its release, iOS 11 managed to reach almost 25% of all active iOS devices. Specifically, it is a value of 24,21%. During the same period last year, iOS 10 reached almost 30% of all active iOS devices. The eleven is still about 30% behind and there is no indication that it will beat its predecessor's record last year.

ios 11 adoption week 1

iOS 10 was a very successful operating system in this regard. It reached 15% in the first day, 30% in a week, and in less than four weeks it was already on two-thirds of all active devices. In January, it was at 76 percent and ended its life cycle at 89%.

The arrival of iOS 11 is steadily slightly worse, we will see how the values develop in the coming weeks when new devices start to reach more users. The fact that a large number of users are waiting for the iPhone X, which will arrive in a month and a half, is also probably contributing to the weak start. They are in no rush to update their older phones. Those who do not want to switch to iOS 11, for a reason, are also a significant group 32-bit application incompatibilities. How are you doing? Do you have iOS 11 on your device? And if so, are you happy with the new operating system?
