iOS 11 is definitely not the streamlined and seamless system we've been used to from Apple for years. Since its release, there have been many disgruntled users who don't like something about the new system. Some people are bothered by significantly worse battery life, others are bothered by the lack of debugging and frequent crashes of some applications. For others, the general lack of fine-tuning of the user interface and, above all, errors in design and layout that were previously unimaginable for Apple are the main shortcomings. The company is trying to patch and finish iOS 11, currently we have the third iteration 11.0.3 and iOS 11.1 has been in the stage for several weeks beta testing. Another interesting bug appeared today that is in iOS 11 and everyone can try it out.
Try entering the following example on your phone (or iPad with some 3rd party calculator application, but in this case the problem does not appear with such regularity): 1+2+3. You should get 6 correctly, but many devices will show 23 or 24, which is definitely not the correct result. As it turns out, iOS 11 has a bug that causes pressing the "+" sign to not register if you type it quickly after entering a number. If you do the whole calculation slowly, the calculator will calculate everything as it should. However, if you click the example at normal speed (or slightly faster), the error will appear.
The most likely cause of this problem is the animation, which is quite long and must be completed in order to register the next character or number. So as soon as you enter another number or operation even before the animation from the previous action ends, this problem occurs. It's definitely nothing major, rather it's just another example of what "everything" is wrong with the new version of the iOS operating system. It can be expected that Apple will adjust the animations in the calculator in iOS 11.1.
And why is there animation at all? Another example of how the originally great iOS ergonomics are disappearing.
She the animation is innocent in this. The designers' effort was to indicate which numerical operation the calculator is currently processing. However, a system error crept in there, namely that they ignore pressing the same operation in quick succession even if you press other buttons - numbers in between.
But when 1+2-3 is quickly pressed, everything is fine, because the operation button changes and the operator algorithm evaluates the press as legal.
So it's clearly a programming error in the algorithm for handling unwanted multiple button presses, and animation as such plays only a secondary role in this phenomenon.
The same thing happens to me when I enter the Passcode quickly. It often ignores some numbers, and as a result, the iPhone processes 6, sometimes 4, of the 5 characters.
I used the integrated calculator and on both the iPad and the iPhone the result was 6.
So a cheap sensation….
Hi, what kind of ipad and ios do you have, do you have an integrated calculator?
I noticed, the calculator is on hold. Otherwise, as many times as my phone has fallen or crashed since installing 11, before that it didn't crash during the entire five years of using the previous model and system. 11 is disastrous and Apple thereby loses all the trumps of problem-free operation that it had compared to Android. ??
Gentlemen, this problem is not only with IOS11.
The same problem is already in IOS 10. ;-)
In my case, the result is always 24.
"It's nothing major", but in the case of an important calculation, it can have consequences.
You may crucify me now, but I've been using Windows Phone for about a year, currently version 10, of course. I don't know what it is app crash, system crash, wrong calculation of free space (Android), phone stuck. The only thing that MEGA annoys me is the terrible Edge, which can't do anything real, and there is no Firefox on Windows Phone. So I really regret that Microsoft didn't succeed with this OS (understated marketing). The fact that there aren't many apps doesn't bother me, I'm not a teenager to download some crap to tell me it's time to go to the bathroom. it was such a golden mean. Because I tried all the platforms, and yes, I switched from iPhone to Windows.
You're already building a gallows for me :-D
sorry, but you're a moron .. let such a rant out of your mouth .. so that the funny platform ends and one day when you wake up you'll only have blue death on the display :D
Well, if anyone is a moron here, it will be you, Zbyněčka. A typical Apple guy, the only thing they know is "if you don't have an iPhone, you're nothing."
Where do you have it written that this is an "apple seller"? There are other extended operating systems for mobile platforms.
I had all system platforms ( IOS, WIn, android ). As for the iPhone, I had a 3s. I have to say that the phone worked like clockwork. the only thing that annoyed me was the limited list of applications (maybe it's different now, I don't know). I don't want to throw all you iPhone people in the same bag, but when I met someone who owned an iPhone and we started talking about phones, most of them asked an ironic question" and you don't have an iPhone, right?" I refer to these people as "apple people" and exactly these types of people then insult other users of non-IOS platforms on the forums. the fact that Stanislav writes that he uses Win and is satisfied does not make him a moron. I think a moron is someone who insults such users in this way.
Your overview is probably very old and limited. There are millions of apps today, and the iPhone 3S never existed. As far as I have experience, on the contrary, I insult the apple-eaters, while the apple-eaters don't care what the others have - it doesn't matter at all.
Yes, my overview of Apple will be old and limited. As for the 3 metal iPhone - of course it's 3g and 3gs, whoever had a triple always said they had a classic triple or 3s. I think the others understood what I wanted to say about the 3s, if not I apologize and write correctly: I had a 3GS.
However, the essence of the matter is that if someone has an OS other than IOS, he is not a "moron" as zdenecek writes, but only uses another OS that suits him. I don't care who has what phone, it's their choice
zbynďa is one of those "I didn't fuck until I bought an iPhone". Sure, because apple fucked you up :)
I don't know, it works fine for me, don't you have dirty hands?
iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.0.3. I've tried it several times and always fine
Also, no problem.
On the iPhone 6S in the native calculator, this problem occurs. It doesn't show up on a 3rd party calculator and I don't use the native one - it's stupid and ugly.
normal - this is how cash registers have been working in many shops and restaurants for a long time
That's why I've been using a calculator with Polish logic for years in iOS, specifically the unrivaled and not cheap HP i41CX+ version with tape.
Since ios 11, I can't turn off wifi, has anyone met stim
