For regular users, the latest iOS 11.4 is currently causing iPhone battery problems. More and more users are complaining on the Apple forum about noticeably worse endurance. Most of the problems appeared shortly after the update, others noticed them only after several weeks of using the system.
The update brought a lot of expected news, such as AirPlay 2 functionality, iMessages on iCloud, news about HomePod and of course several security fixes. Along with that, it caused battery life problems on some iPhone models. The problem seems to be more widespread than originally expected, as more and more users are suffering from noticeably worse endurance. The proof is more how thirty-page topic on the official Apple forum.
The problem lies mainly in self-discharging when the iPhone is not in use. While one user's iPhone 6 lasted a whole day before the update, after the update he is forced to charge the phone twice a day. Another user observed that the drain was probably caused by the Personal Hotspot feature, which consumed up to 40% of the battery even though it was not activated at all. In some cases, the problem is so extensive that users are forced to charge their iPhone every 2-3 hours.
A number of them were forced by the reduced stamina to update to the beta version of iOS 12, where it seems that the problem has already been fixed. However, the new system will not be released for ordinary users until autumn. Apple is also currently testing a minor iOS 11.4.1 that could fix the bug. However, it is still unclear whether this will actually be the case.
Are you also having battery life issues after updating to iOS 11.4? Let us know in the comments.
Well, I have this problem after the 10.3 update
I also resorted to iOS12 with my 6S and it is significantly better.
Complete agreement. Before the update, my phone lasted a good 2 days with normal use, after the update less than a day. I switched to the iOS 12 beta and did very well. Again the battery lasts for 2 days and the acceleration of the phone is amazing. iPhone SE
Yes, it's been less than a day since I updated the software from IOS 11 to IOS 11.4.1 and my phone is draining much faster than before. I have an iPhone 5 SE.
