This afternoon on its official website, Apple presented the first snippets of what users can look forward to in the upcoming iOS 11.3 update. It should arrive sometime in the spring and should bring some highly anticipated features. In a short statement you can read here, we can look under the hood of what Apple has in store for us.

Last night, Apple released updates for all of its operating systems, including the new version of iOS 11.2.5. Most likely, this is the last update in the 11.2 series, and the next update will already contain the number 3. The upcoming version will focus on new elements of augmented reality, bring new Animoji, new options for the Health application, and above all, it will come with the option of turning off the slowdown of affected iPhones, from due to battery wear.

As for augmented reality, iOS 11.3 will include ARKit 1.5, which will offer developers an even greater number of tools to use for their applications. Applications will be able to work with, for example, images placed on the wall, inscriptions, posters, etc. There will be many new possibilities of use in practice. The resolution of the resulting image should also improve when using ARKit tools. iOS 11.3 will bring four new Animoji, thanks to which iPhone X owners will be able to "transform" into a lion, bear, dragon or skeleton (demonstration in the official video here). According to Apple's statement, animated emoticons are extremely popular and therefore it would be a mistake to forget them in the new update…

News will also receive new functions. Starting with the official release of iOS 11.3, beta testing of a new feature called "Business Chat" will begin, where you will be able to communicate with different companies through the Messages app. This function will be available as part of a beta test in the USA, where it will be possible to contact some banking institutions or hotels in this way. The aim is to enable users to easily and quickly contact certain institutions.

Probably the most important news will be the battery and performance features of the iPhone/iPad. This update should feature a new tool that will show the user how their device's battery life is doing. Alternatively, it will let the user know if it is a good idea to replace it. In addition, it will be possible to turn off measures that slow down the processor and graphics accelerator in order to maintain system stability. This feature will be available for iPhone 6 and later and can be found in Settings - Battery.

Changes will be made to the Health application, within which it will now be easier to share your health information with certain institutions. Unfortunately, this does not concern us again, as this system is not supported within the Czech healthcare system. Other minor changes (which will be described sometime in the coming weeks) will see Apple Music, Apple News or HomeKit. The public release of iOS 11.3 is scheduled for spring, with the developer beta starting today and the open beta starting in a few days/weeks.
