Apple released a new developer beta version of iOS 11.2 last night. You can view the list of the biggest news on the video in this article. Currently, the current version available is still the one labeled 11.0.3, although Apple is expected to release 11.1 as early as this Friday, when the iPhone X goes on sale. Foreign YouTube Channel iAppleBytes put together a fairly detailed test in which they compare the speed of both the current system and the system released yesterday. They used both the older iPhone 6s and last year's iPhone 7 for testing. You can see the results in the videos below.

In the case of the iPhone 7, the differences between the systems are clearly visible. iOS 11.2 Beta 1 boots significantly faster than the current version 11.0.3. Movement in the user interface is almost identical between the two versions. Sometimes there are some glitches with the current version of iOS, in other cases even the new beta is slightly stuck. Since this is only the first beta version, it can be expected that work will still be done on the final optimization. The new version of the software also produces slightly worse results in performance benchmarks, but this may also be due to the early optimization phase.

In the case of the iPhone 6s (and older devices as well), the boot speed is even more noticeable. The new beta started up to 15 seconds faster than the current live version of iOS. Movement in the user interface seems smoother, but the difference is minimal. The most important change in the final will still be how the new version of iOS will affect battery life, which many users have been complaining about since the release of the first iteration of iOS 11.
