macOS fans of the popular Internet browser from Google have long been waiting for support for Dark Mode to appear in Chrome. It was originally expected to happen together with the latest update that arrived a few days ago. However, Dark Mode was missing in it. Developers but now they revealed, that this long-awaited feature is coming very soon.

In order for Dark Mode to work in Chrome, this feature needs to be implemented in the code that the browser runs on. And that's exactly what happened recently, when an extension was added to the Chromium browser engine, which will make it possible to use an alternative look of the browser. And Chromium is the basis of the Google Chrome internet browser. New code it has passed the review process and will thus be ready for inclusion in one of the future releases of the release version.

Implementing news into the browser is a relatively lengthy process, where individual updates and changes move from one level to another in waves. First, the new feature is implemented in the Chromium browser, from which it then travels through several developer versions to a closed and open beta test. Once everything has been thoroughly tested, the changes will make their way into the upcoming public update, which always appears at roughly six-week intervals.

Dark Mode will most likely not arrive in the upcoming update number 72, users could enjoy it only from update number 73, which should arrive sometime between February and March. Above you can see a few images of what Dark Mode looks like in its current form in the Chromium browser.
