At the beginning of the year, Instagram began testing a feature that notified users when someone took a screenshot of their Stories. But the function was available only to a selected part of users. However, it seems that even after several months of testing, it did not meet with positive feedback, as Instagram decided to remove it from its social network.

Since February, when the feature was first launched, the news has reached only a handful of randomly selected users. They received notifications not only for screenshots of their Stories, but also for video recordings of the screen. An overview of all users who took a screenshot could be viewed in the Stories view list, where a camera icon was displayed for users.

Now BuzzFeed informs that Instagram has officially stopped testing the feature and intends to remove it from the app. In the future, other protections could be implemented in the social network that will directly prevent screen capture using screenshots and video.
