Even today, we have prepared a regular summary from the world of IT for you. So if you want to be up to date and, apart from Apple, you are interested in the general happenings in the IT world, then you are absolutely right here. In today's IT roundup, we look at the rewards Instagram is trying to lure content creators away from TikTok. In the next part, we will focus together on the news that WhatsApp could soon see. There are never enough new features - the biggest music streaming service, Spotify, is also planning one. So let's get straight to the point and let's talk a little more about the mentioned information.

Instagram is trying to attract content creators from TikTok. He will pay them a hefty reward

TikTok, which has become the most popular app in the world in recent months, is talked about practically every day. While TikTok was banned in India a few months ago due to alleged theft of personal data, a few days later the United States was also considering a similar move. Meanwhile, TikTok has been accused several times of various data breaches and many other things, many of which were simply not supported by evidence. The whole situation surrounding TikTok can thus be considered rather political, since this application was originally created in China, which many countries cannot easily overcome.

TikTok even overshadowed the largest giant in the field of social networks, the company Facebook, which, in addition to the network of the same name, includes, for example, Instagram and WhatsApp. But it looks like Instagram has decided to take advantage of this "weakening" of TikTok at the moment. The aforementioned social network from the Facebook empire is gradually preparing to add a new feature called Reels. With this feature, users will be able to upload short videos, just like on TikTok. But let's face it, users probably won't switch from the popular TikTok on their own, unless content creators that users follow switch to Instagram. Instagram therefore decided to contact the biggest names from TikTok and all kinds of influencers with millions of followers. It is supposed to offer these content creators very lucrative financial rewards if they switch from TikTok to Instagram, and therefore Reels. After all, when the creators pass, then of course their followers pass too. TikTok is trying to fend off Instagram's plan with fat cash injections it offers its biggest creators. In particular, TikTok was supposed to release up to 200 million dollars in the form of rewards for the creators themselves in the last week. We'll see how this whole situation plays out.

WhatsApp may soon receive some interesting news

Of course, Messenger from Facebook continues to rank among the most popular chat applications, but it must be noted that people are gradually trying to use other applications, for example with end-to-end encryption. Many users of Apple products use iMessages, and other users like to reach for WhatsApp, which, although it belongs to Facebook, offers many additional features compared to Messenger, along with the already mentioned end-to-end encryption. In order for Facebook to continue to retain WhatsApp users, it is of course necessary that the train does not run over it. Thus, new and new functions are constantly arriving in WhatsApp. While a few weeks ago we finally got the desired dark mode, WhatsApp is currently testing another new feature.

With its help, users should be able to log in on multiple different devices, the limit of these devices should be set at four. To log in on different devices, WhatsApp should send different verification codes that would go to other devices from a user who wants to log in on another device. Thanks to this, the security aspect would be solved. It should be noted that WhatsApp only uses a phone number to log in. One phone number can be active on one mobile phone and possibly also within the (web) application. If you wanted to use your number to log in on another mobile device, you would have to go through the transfer process, which would simply disable WhatsApp on the original device and make it impossible to use it. The feature is being tested on Android devices first – click through the gallery below to see what it will look like. We'll see if we see this feature added in one of the next updates - most of us would definitely appreciate it.

Spotify is improving its feature for listening to music and playlists with friends

If you are one of the users of the most widespread music streaming service, which is currently Spotify, then you surely know that we often see various improvements within this application as well. In one of the past updates, we saw the addition of a function that allows us to listen to the same music or podcasts at the same time together with friends, family and anyone else. However, all these users must be in the same place - only then can the function for synchronized listening be used. However, you are not always in personal contact with your loved ones, and sometimes it could be useful to be able to listen to the same music or podcast even if you are half a world away from each other. This idea also occurred to the Spotify developers themselves, who decided to improve the application with just this function. The whole process of sharing music or a podcast is simple - just send a link between two to five users, and each of them will simply connect. Immediately after that, joint listening can begin. For now, however, this feature is in beta testing and will not appear in the final version of Spotify for some time, so we definitely have something to look forward to.
