Nowadays, we use social networks almost on a daily basis. Chatting with friends is an inherent part of it. But how to combine contacts from all social networks and communication services into one application? This problem has been solved very elegantly by the developers at Shape, the company behind the IM+ app.
The IM+ application is used to connect your accounts from social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, ICQ, Google Talk, MSN and many others. It offers support for multiple accounts or push notification support.
The application environment looks very nicely done, with the possibility to change themes or background. Everything is nicely organized in the app, so you don't have a problem chatting with multiple contacts at the same time. If you need to run somewhere, you will certainly be pleased with the presence of Statuses, which you can freely create or adapt already created ones. As for the accounts, as you can see in the screenshot, they can be easily turned off or on.
IM+ supports multitasking, so you don't necessarily need to be in the app while chatting. However, I personally think that push notifications with interesting settings will serve better in this case. You can set the time for which the application will remain "online" on all accounts, so that even when the application is completely turned off, you will appear as connected on all accounts - this has an advantage, for example, even with Facebook, which otherwise does not support offline chatting. You can even set up an automatic reply, so if you have the app closed right now, your preset reply will be sent to the sender immediately. Of course, you can set a so-called Timeout, after which the application will log out of all accounts. 10 minutes before the timeout expires, the application warns you to start IM+ again to extend the timeout.
Someone will be pleased with the integrated web browser, with the option to send the page directly to Safari, full support for Twitter, support for groups of contacts, more extensive sound settings, or a refined chat history. An interesting feature is the speech to text conversion, which, however, only supports the English language and you pay an additional €0,79 per month for it, and you can use it on up to 5 devices.
Personally, I have nothing to complain about the app. It offers everything you need in one place and does it exactly as you would expect from such an application. Quick access to all accounts, all open chat windows, high-quality notifications and extensive settings make this application my favorite for everyday chatting, whether from an iPhone or iPad.
iTunes AppStore - IM+ Free
iTunes AppStore - IM+ Pro - €7,99
I've been using Meebo on PC for a long time, and it's been about a year since the iPhone app was released, so I'm extremely satisfied. It's free, although it doesn't have Skype, but I don't care...
The only thing that bothers me, or I haven't figured out how to do it, is the file reception. I send the file just fine, but when someone sends me something on im+, it appears that they have sent me the file, but I can't click accept anywhere... you don't know how to do it :) or it really doesn't work there.
Thanks
Push notifications don't work on my ipad.. anyone with a similar problem?
It: Wire
In ipad settings – Notifications – on – Im+ – turn everything on
In im+ settings - settings - push settings - stay connected I have him
And everything works fine for me
IM+ is not bad.. But BeejiveIM is still the best..
I won't allow that on Meebo, which is free
You write that it supports Skype… it is not true…
My experience:
I installed IM+ (free) on an iPad 2 (iOS 5) - push notifications worked fine, they appeared nicely in the upper notification bar. I decided to buy IM+ Pro because it also integrates skype and is ad-free, and push notifications don't work for me there at all. I don't understand why and it disappointed me a bit, because I expected that there would be no problem... Can anyone give me some advice.
Well thank you.
I used the free IM+ app on my iPhone. When I bought an iPad 2, I decided to buy IM+Pro version 5.5 for €4,99. I was pleased that IM+ was updated to the Pro version on my iPhone as well. I recently upgraded IM+ Pro on my iPad to version 5.6 and expected it to upgrade to the same on my iPhone, but nothing. I still have version 5.5 there and if I wanted to upgrade I would have to purchase it for €7,99. I thought that once I bought it, I would get all the upgrades for free.
Was I wrong? How does it actually work?
Ďakujem za Vasu odpoveď.
