This year, IKEA released smart light bulbs from the Tradfri series (you can see them in the Czech catalog <a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>), which should have support for HomeKit. After several delays caused by long testing and certification, customers have finally received official support, and as of today, an application is available in the App Store through which you can control smart lighting directly from your iPhone or iPad.

In order to be able to control the Tradfri series bulbs from your iOS device, it is necessary to update the remote control, together with the update custom iOS apps. This app allows you to generate a special code that will allow the bulbs to be controlled directly through HomeKit, where you can pair them with other smart elements in your home, such as Philips Hue bulbs.

Support for IKEA products within HomeKit is still relatively limited, as it is only possible to turn off or turn on paired accessories. However, it can be expected that work is being done to expand the functionality and, in addition to the aforementioned, other smart accessories offered by the Swedish furniture giant will also be added to HomeKit in the near future. The Tradfri smart lighting set is available from 449 crowns and can go up to just under XNUMX thousand, depending on the number of bulbs and accessories purchased. More information can be found on the official IKEA website (<a href="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1932/8043/files/200721_ODSTOUPENI_BEZ_UDANI_DUVODU__EN.pdf?v=1595428404" data-gt-href-en="https://en.notsofunnyany.com/">here</a>).
