When it was September 9 4th generation Apple TV introduced, Apple has provided developers with these latest special set-top boxes as part of special developer kits. The purpose, of course, was that developers could immediately start developing applications for this new platform and not have to wait for a production version of the device. However, Apple TV distributed in this way is of course subject to the classic embargo in the cool of a strict non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

Among the developers who received the new Apple TV were also the people behind the well-known Internet portal iFixit. However, they decided to break the NDA, disassembled the fourth generation Apple TV and published the result of their research without further ado on the Internet. Conclusions of the analysis iFixit we are you then we also brought. But it soon became clear that the editors from iFixit they really overshot and Apple didn't turn a blind eye this time.

After a few days we received an email from Apple informing us that we had violated the terms and conditions and our developer account had been suspended. Unfortunately, the iFixit app was tied to the same account, so Apple pulled it from the App Store.

However, the developers say that the download of the application is not a big loss for the company. Even before it happened, the company decided that they would rather focus on editing the mobile version of their website. The app was outdated and suffered from bugs that didn't allow it to run smoothly on the latest iOS 9. So the new mobile site is supposed to be a better solution for iFixit for these reasons and a new app is not in the works.

However, a bigger problem for the company may be the loss of the developer status itself, which brought benefits to iFixit people such as access to pre-production versions of new hardware. However, they weren't the only ones at iFixit to get the new Apple TV out to the public before it even went on sale. Since Apple has clearly prohibited developers from sharing any materials or photos related to the new set-top box, it is possible that it will punish other users as well.
