After a complete breakdown of the new Mac Mini and MacBook Air, here we have the last novelty of the year, which Apple presented at the keynote the week before last. It is the new iPad Pro together with the second generation Apple Pencil.

The first interesting pictures were taken even before the technicians iFixit they looked inside. Under the x-ray, you can see the internal layout of the components, the size and shape of the batteries, etc. The disassembly process is otherwise very similar to other recent iPads. First, you need to heat the edges of the device and gradually peel off the display part. Compared to previous models, this operation is noticeably more difficult, as the edges of the display have shrunk.

After disconnecting the display part, the other internal components appear, which are thoroughly folded into the body of the iPad Pro. At first glance, two vertically positioned batteries and a set of eight speakers (four tweeters and four woofers) dominate. Between the batteries there is a base plate covered by a heat shield, which hides all the essential components.

It is here that we find the super-powerful A12X Bionic processor, as well as a 4(6) GB RAM module, chips with built-in memory and several other co-processors and modules that ensure that the new iPad Pro runs the way it does. The batteries are fixed in the chassis with the popular adhesive tapes that appear in iPhones and even in the new MacBook Air. The disassembly and subsequent installation of the batteries would be relatively easy if part of the batteries were not fixed with an additional amount of glue.

As for other components, both the camera and the Face ID module are modular and relatively easily replaceable parts. However, the same cannot be said about the speakers, which are glued in place and their removal is thus quite tricky. Conversely, the charging USB-C port is fully modular and easily replaceable.

If we move from the iPad Pro to the Apple Pencil, there is no room for correction at all. To disassemble the new generation of Apple Pencil, cutting is required, which removes the plastic cover and reveals the inner core, on which individual components such as motion sensors, BT chip, battery, wireless charging surface, etc. are allocated.
