The new iPad Air 2 is starting to get into the hands of the first customers, and it is traditionally under scrutiny they took also iFixit server technicians. Their teardown of Apple's new tablet showed and confirmed the presence of a smaller battery 2 GB RAM.
Even on the latest iPad Air, there are no screws to be found, so the only way to get to its innards is by flipping the display. The latter is now fully laminated with no gaps and, according to iFixit, is stronger. Peeling it off revealed a smaller battery with a capacity of 7 mAh, while the first iPad Air had a capacity of 340 mAh. Although Apple promises the same endurance for both models, the first user reviews have already revealed that the iPad Air 8 does not last as long as its predecessor.
In addition to the A8X processor, which should be triple-core according to Geekbench estimates, iFixit confirmed two separate 1GB RAM chips, which together give the new iPad Air 2 GB of operating memory.
The design of the Touch ID sensor is very similar to that of the new iPhones. On the contrary, the cameras are not the same, the one from the iPhone 6 Plus is different, yet the quality in the second generation iPad Air is significantly better than in the first model, and in addition, unlike iPhones, the lens is not protruding. The ambient light sensor from the FaceTime HD camera was split into two sensors, apparently for better efficiency. One is now located on the headphone jack.
In terms of repairability, iFixit gave the iPad Air 2 just two points out of ten, with ten being the easiest to repair. On the plus side, the battery is still not firmly attached to the motherboard, but since the iPad's guts can only be accessed through the display, which is glued to the rest of the device, there's a good chance the display will be damaged during the repair. Likewise, the fact that the front panel is firmly connected increases the cost of repairing a cracked display. The glue is also present in other parts, which makes the repair even more difficult.
Will the reduced battery last longer? Apple is starting to be a real political unit :-).
But what, why are they the youngest……

The staying power is still the same, so I don't understand the misplaced agitations...
So why do they write everywhere that they already feel the user is weaker?
Maybe I got a little carried away, so I'll wait until the first official tests ;-). However, even the removal of the volume button is stupid. I use it every day that I have an iPad in my hand.
So look here for hold
Are you playing at least some 3D demanding games on it? I also have an iPad 2 and my current values are certainly better:
Usage 10 hours, 15 min
Standby 1 day, 0 hours
But the battery still has 58%, so if I'm on the go, that's 20 hours of use ;-).
Bro played clash of clans on it quite a lot. Even dead trigger played a bit. I Skyped, about 2,5 hours approx. Then mostly app or web downloads. LTE was also on for about 2 hours
So, LTE can definitely use the battery well ;-). I only have the Wifi version, so this doesn't bother my battery :-).
I would be quite interested in a comparison of such smooth operation between the iPad Air and Air 2, then it would be revealed.
According to me, it would be ideal if it could withstand 17 hours of operation and 3 days of standby.
Otherwise I currently:
Used 11 hours, 34 minutes
Emergency 1 day, 9 hours
Personally, I think that air 2 will not last 17 hours. Maybe on low brightness without LTE and wifi only iBooks with night mode
I wonder if the Air 1 ever lasted that long, it was a file of religious washing ;-).
In my opinion, it's pretty much about what's happening on the tablet. I currently have it like this:
I don't turn off wifi (I don't have a SIM card)
I look at emails (I have gmail with push notifications) and I occasionally browse the web
I play a bunch of challenging games (Rayman Fiesta Run, Random Heroes 3, Random Heroes 2)
YouTube is also worth a try
Tomorrow I will pass the screen shot, and I will be at least around 10% battery :-). Anyway, the ideal is probably if it lasts 3 days and since I don't work on it more than 4 hours a day, actually let's say 13 hours + 3 days of waiting might be enough.
So I successfully drained it completely to the bottom and found out to my surprise that when it is fully charged, it does not show the last values :-(. It only shows "-" :-(.
As far as I can remember, I had 3 days of Emergency and used about 15 hours. In 3 days I will be more precise ;-). The game Random Heroes 3 matured the most and the second application was Youtube ;-) ).
I would also add that it was after the first charge since I have owned an iPad. So someone was still playing with him
So the battery can reach its full capacity even after the first and third charge, so it can even get better :-).
We'll see how you wake up looking later. We are familiar with the iPad mini 1. And it doesn't even have LTE and retina.
I can probably see getting an Air 1
I am selling an iPad Air 1 LTE 128GB white, please contact me.
I am looking forward to seeing him. I was thinking about the number one, but the new HW is more appealing to me and the price is not so terrible if you buy it for min. 2 years.
Today was not a boring day with the iPad Air 2! What do you think, is thinner just better? http://jirihubik.cz/novinky/ipad-air-2-kdyz-tenci-je-proste-lepsi/
