If you follow the events in the apple world and have an overview of it, then you certainly have not missed the news that Apple has introduced in connection with repairing mobile phones in recent years. In general, it can be said that in terms of complexity, iPhones can be repaired quite easily - that is, if we are talking about classic repairs such as replacing the display, battery or charging connector. If you are at least a little handy, careful and patient, you can do such a repair at home using the right tools. There are countless different precision tools available on the market, including cheap sets to more expensive ones. Personally, I have been using the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit professional line for almost a quarter of a year, which differs in many ways from the cheap ones, and in this article we will take a closer look at it.

Apple and home repair

Even before we look together at the mentioned set of tools, let's remember how Apple tries to prevent home repairs of iPhones. If you rush to repair your device at home, after replacing the display, battery or camera module, a notification will appear on the latest devices informing you that non-original components may have been used. But the good news is that these notifications in no way limit the functionality of the device as such. After a while, the notification disappears and hides in Settings, where it will not disturb you in any way. Apple introduced this primarily to ensure that everything is replaced professionally and mainly with original parts - otherwise, users could have a much worse experience. Fortunately, no one is preventing us from doing home repairs for the time being, and if you use quality parts, you won't know the difference, that is, except for the warning.

iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit

I have personally been repairing Apple devices for several years and have had the honor of repairing most devices since the iPhone 5s. During this time, I replaced countless different tools, so I consider myself a person who can at least evaluate in a certain way. Like any amateur repairman, I started with a set of cheap tools from the Chinese market, which I also often got for free with some spare part. This tool is enough for a single repair, but your hands will most likely hurt and in general this tool is not perfectly controlled. Last but not least, such tools wear out quickly. There are also slightly more expensive sets that are pleasant to work with, but wear out sooner or later and you have to buy the whole set again. And then it's his turn iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit, which I would define as the best set of precision tools I have ever had the opportunity to work with, thanks to several aspects.

Various tools or everything you need

The iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit includes a total of 12 types of different tools, some of which you will find here several times in case of destruction. Specifically, within the set you will find one suction cup with a holder for easy removal of the display, plastic tools for disconnecting connectors, various types of tweezers, picks or an antistatic bracelet. It is the use of an antistatic wristband that is relatively important during repairs to avoid damage to components - but many individuals completely ignore this fact. By not using an antistatic wristband, the display may not work correctly at first, or it may be completely destroyed, which I can confirm from my own (in)experience after the first repairs. We must also not forget the large box with a main and flexible screwdriver and various steel attachments and nuts, 64 of which are available – from the classic cross, through torx, hex or Y. It is the number of all typical and atypical bits that users highly appreciate. This box is only attached to the case with a magnet, so you can easily disconnect it and take it with you, at the same time, the magnet under the box can be used to organize screws and components.

Excellent quality

All the above components are packed in a small and stylish package that you can take with you anytime and anywhere. So you no longer have to carry all your tools in bags and wait until you lose something - everything has its place with the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit. At first glance, many of you might say that the tools inside may look the same as those from Chinese markets, but this feeling is wrong. Although, for example, the tweezers look completely the same and differ at first glance only in the logo, believe me that the biggest difference is precisely in durability. As I mentioned before, I've been using iFixit's Toolkit for over a quarter of a year now, and in that time I haven't had the slightest need to replace a single tool. I made several different repairs, some of which were quite complicated and the tools had to be used in a non-standard way. While I was able to bend or break the regular tweezers in some way during the three repairs, I haven't noticed any problems with the iFixit tweezers so far. In the case of tweezers, it is then necessary, among other things, that both "legs" snap together exactly. Even in this case, iFixit tools have the upper hand, as they are designed with absolute precision, which cannot be said about cheap replacements, which often still have to be straightened.

Will you destroy the tool? You get a new one for free!

You can buy the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit in several different stores in the Czech Republic - the price is usually around sixteen hundred. Now you know that you are really paying for quality and overall design that will last you for many years. But that's certainly not all, as iFixit offers a free lifetime warranty with the purchase of the mentioned tool set. This means only one thing for you - if you manage to destroy a tool in a certain way, iFixit will give you a new one for free. Overall, this fact underscores the fact that iFixit really stands behind its toolkit.

záver

You may be making a decision right now and wondering if you should purchase the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit for certain situations. Above all, it is necessary for you to think about how often you repair similar devices where you have to use precision tools. If you are one of the amateur repairers who perform a repair a few times a year, then the Pro Tech Toolkit is probably not worth it. However, if you would like to move from the amateur level to the more professional level, believe that in addition to experience, you will need a quality set of tools, which the iFixit Pro Tech Toolkit undoubtedly is. Of course, this set will be used the most by professionals who repair equipment every day and need to have everything they need at hand, in perfect quality and without the slightest compromise.
