The Instagram social service, which has long focused mainly on photo sharing, continues its journey into the field of video creation and sharing. A newly introduced app called Hyperlapse will allow iPhone owners to easily take stabilized time-lapse videos.

The main advantage of Hyperlapse is the advanced stabilization algorithm, which can cope with really shaky video incredibly well. This will allow users to shoot almost perfectly stable video handheld (without a tripod). At the same time, it will provide solid results whether you are standing still and filming the movement of clouds across the sky, watching the traffic on the street while walking or documenting your terrifying experience from riding a roller coaster.

The resulting Hyperlapse video can be played at the original speed, but at the same time it can also speed up the footage up to twelve times. Just launch a simple app separate from Instagram and in a few clicks we can share the stabilized time-lapse video to our Instagram followers or Facebook friends. In addition, it is not necessary to create a user account to use the application.

According to its chief technology officer Mike Krieger, Instagram tried to make the new product as accessible as possible. "We took a really complicated image processing process and reduced it to a single slider," Krieger explains of the birth of the new video app. You can read the whole story of Hyperlapse at site Wired.
