The Information server he came with a report claiming that Huawei engineers tried to steal trade secrets about the heart rate sensor on the new Apple Watch, straight from Apple's main supplier.

The engineers met with the main watch manufacturer and appealed to him, saying that if he told them the trade secret, then in return they would move the production of their Huawei SmartWatch to him. Among other things, the Chinese company has promised a large number of pieces that it wants to produce.

The first meeting was supposed to take place already in the spring of last year, when Huawei was supposed to deliver a diagram of a watch to the supplier, which was very similar to the Apple Watch, and asked about the total production costs. However, these were not disclosed to them, as the supplier believed that the Chinese company only wanted to find out the production costs of the Apple Watch.

The Information further states that this is not the first time that Huawei has tried to copy a product from Apple's workshops. There is a suspicion that Huawei also copied the thin design of the MacBook Pro 2016 for its Huawei MateBook Pro. The company's representatives were supposed to meet with the main supplier of MacBooks and present to him their scheme for the MateBook. However, it was almost identical in design to the MacBook Pro, and production was rejected.

The report also states that not only Huawei, but also other companies have bribed factory workers to scan component schematics and then pass them on to companies. But this task is very difficult, because the production lines are isolated, guarded, and in addition, there are metal detectors on every floor, so in the end the workers only had to draw and describe the parts.
