There are games that, even today, when it seems that everything has already been discovered, manage to impress with their uniqueness and original processing. These often include titles from lesser-known indie developers, namely, for example Trine, Braid or Limbo. The third one was first developed exclusively for the Xbox Arcade, later it came to the Playstation 3, PC and Mac and was a great success on all platforms, after all, over three million copies have been sold to date. Limbo is now heading to iOS as well.

Limbo is an original jumping game with a gloomy atmosphere and even more gloomy black and white graphics. The central character is a boy who goes in search of his lost sister through the wasteland, where death is literally lurking around every corner. The game is loaded with physics puzzles, where in most cases, if you fail to solve them, you end up with a violent death, either under a massive boulder, on the edge of bayonets or at the hands of a giant spider.

The iOS version should appear on July 3 and will be available as a universal app for iPad 2, iPad mini, iPhone 4S and newer devices at a price of €4,49. According to the Creators' Pair of Playdead the controls have been reimagined and optimized to ensure the best possible gameplay on a touch device. On the currently available platforms, the game made do with directional arrows and one button for interaction, so we'll see what the creators manage to squeeze out of the touch screen.

Hopefully, other iconic games from Xbox Arcade or Playstation Network will also appear on iOS. The independent scene is starting to grow tremendously, led by Minecraft and most developers port their games to most popular platforms including iOS.
