DaaS is an abbreviation for "Device as a Service". This is a program that you may be familiar with from major domestic electronics retailers, and as part of which a certain form of rental of electronic equipment is offered to corporate entities. HP surprisingly decided to rent Apple products as well.

Apple from HP? Why not!

HP (Hewlett-Packard) has expanded its DaaS program, under which companies can rent electronic devices for business purposes, to include Apple products. HP customers will now be able to get Macs, iPhones, iPads and other products of the Cupertino company for regular monthly fees. HP will continue to provide service and support to these customers.

At the moment, only the American branch of HP offers Apple products as part of DaaS, but the company does not hide its plans to expand the scope of this service outside the United States - soon, for example, Great Britain should follow.

VR as a service

Virtual reality is no longer associated exclusively with the gaming industry or a narrow branch of development. At HP, they are very aware of this, which is why the company's management has decided to provide companies with a Windows Mixed Reality headset (see photo gallery) as part of DaaS, along with the recently revealed Z4 Workstation, which is a high-performance workstation designed specifically for work in the virtual field. augmented and mixed reality.

Perfect care

HP tries not to limit its DaaS program to simply renting equipment, but wants to provide its clients with the most comprehensive services possible, which is why the company has expanded its analytical services to include the possibility of monitoring hardware performance and, above all, the possibility of early detection of potential problems and defects, and thus their proactive correction.

"The unique data analysis capabilities of HP DaaS are now available on Windows, Android, iOS and macOS devices. We are creating a multi-platform solution, designed to increase the efficiency of IT services and improve the experience," reads the HP press statement.

Computers for rent

A number of sellers in the Czech Republic also offer the option of long-term rental of computers and other electronics. These services are primarily aimed at corporate clients and include, as part of a monthly fee, the rental of (not only) IT equipment and related services and maintenance. As part of these programs, companies usually get equipment tailored to their needs, above-standard service with the possibility of immediate delivery of replacement equipment in case of damage, regular replacement of the relevant hardware and other benefits.

Under certain conditions, natural persons can also use a similar program. In such cases, it is mostly an operational lease, in which the users get the given product for rent with the possibility of regular upgrading to a higher model.
