With the arrival of the latest operating systems from Apple, we also saw the arrival of a "new" service called iCloud+. All users who subscribe to iCloud, including those who do not use the free plan, automatically get this service. The iCloud+ service primarily includes several features that strengthen the security of the user's privacy. The two biggest features are called Private Transfer and Hide My Email, and if you're a regular reader of our magazine, you already know everything you need to know about them. However, we have recently received an interesting improvement to the Hide My Email function that you should definitely know about.

How to use Hide My Email in Mail on Mac

As you probably already know, the Hide My Email feature allows you to create a special cover email address. You can then enter this practically anywhere on the web, with the certainty that the provider of the site or service will not gain access to the name of your real mailbox, which reduces the risk of possible misuse or hacking. However, if you are one of those individuals who use the native Mail application to work with e-mail, then I have great news for you. In the latest system update, we saw the extension of the Hide my email function, which makes it possible to send emails directly from the cover mailbox. The procedure is as follows:

  • First, you need to go to the app on your Mac Mail
  • Once you've done that, tap on the top toolbar button to create a new email.
  • Then in the classic way fill in the recipient, subject and message of the email.
  • Before shipping though tap your email address inline From:.
  • Here, you just have to select an option from the menu Hide my email.
  • Finally created email simply you send

If you send an e-mail using the above procedure, the recipient will not see your real e-mail address, but a cover address. If a reply or any other e-mail is sent to this address, it will be automatically forwarded to your real address. If you decide to reply, you can again set it to be sent from the cover of the e-mail address as described above. To use the Hide my email function, you must have iCloud+, other settings for this function can be found in System Preferences → Apple ID → iCloud, where u Hide my email tap on Elections…
