iCON Prague, the largest festival on the use of technology in life and personal development, will once again bring thousands of people to NTK. Free entry. The program includes advice for users of the Apple brand, but also inspiration for mobile photography, the widespread use of tablets will be discussed, and this year also the phenomenon of solutions for measuring personal results, data and numbers of all kinds, i.e. various bracelets, watches and other "self-meters" …

"Technologies are meant to save time and money. Sometimes you just need to meet the right person who will show you how to do it, and an iPhone or tablet in your pocket can change your life," says Petr Mára, one of the founders of the festival.

iCONference

One of the parts of the festival is the iCONference with three main blocks – Mind Maps, Lifehacking and iCON Life. The iCONference takes place on both days, and admission to all lectures within it is paid.

The main guest is Chris Griffiths, a collaborator of the father of mind maps Tony Buzan and co-founder of the center ThinkBuzan. One of the most erudite trainers of the concept of mind maps will speak in the Czech Republic for the very first time.

"The technique of mind maps has its 40th anniversary this year, millions of them have been created during that time," says Jasna Sýkorová, who prepares the program for iCON Prague. "Thanks to applications and new technologies, mind maps become an absolutely great tool not only for sorting ideas, but also for teamwork and project management. Chris Griffiths was there with Tony Buzan when the mind map phenomenon was born. And now he is the main driver of their expansion into business - from large corporations to small independent teams that need to be creative but efficient at the same time."

The Saturday morning program on mind maps will be followed by a second big block with the code name Lifehacking, which can be translated into Czech as improving life using technology. During a few lectures, you will be able to get a huge amount of inspiration for organizing your time, incorporating technology into everyday life or just for better self-presentation.

"We don't want to deal in depth with what, but rather how. We are not interested in talk, but in what works. We want people to really take something practical away from the lectures," explains na iCON Prague blog Peter Mara. "Technology thus becomes more of a subliminal line for us, what's important to us is how they can improve our lives, how we can become Lifehackers using them," he adds.

In addition to Petr Mára, the well-known publicist Tomáš Baránek, a pioneer in the use of new media in Czech television Tomáš Hodboď and an experienced coach in the field of personal development Jaroslav Homolka will talk about life "hacking".

The Sunday iCONference program is reserved primarily for fans of Apple and Apple devices. In the iCON Life block, speakers will share their practical experience with using iPhones, iPads and Macs, and in addition to well-known Czech names such as Tomáš Tesař and Patrick Zandl, we can also look forward to one interesting foreign guest.

"For example, we invited Apple trainer Daniela Rubio from Spain, who is one of the biggest European experts on Voiceover and voice control in general. In addition, he can present excellently," reveals Jasna Sýkorová.

Until mid-February, tickets to the iCONference can be purchased at so-called early bird prices, while access to all blocks currently costs three thousand crowns. Of course, you can also buy individual blocks separately.

iCON Mania and iCON Expo

This year's festival will also feature a free section. The so-called marketplace of sensations in the form of the iCON Expo is being prepared, where Apple's new products will be on display, as well as gadgets for iPhones and iPods, which you may have only read about so far.

As part of the iCON Mania block, every visitor will be able to get plenty of inspiration and tips and tricks for working with their smart, especially Apple, device.

During the festival weekend, it will also be possible to come across iCON Atrakce, iCON EDU or iCON Dev blocks. Details of their program will be released in the coming weeks.

Festival iCON Prague 2014, whose program will gradually appear on www.iconprague.com, will last two days, 22-23 March 2014 in the National Technical Library in Prague.
