Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3)

Electronic Entertainment Expo 2012 is a gaming festival organized annually by the Entertainment Software Association in Los Angeles, USA. Manufacturers present their games here, which often only see the light of day in the gaming world at the end of the year (sometimes even later), but especially here the highly anticipated titles will be revealed and trailers will be shown, which will gradually flood all gaming magazines.

The Entertainment Software Association (E3) was founded in 1995 and has been running continuously until this year (the last year was E3 2011). Between 1995 and 2006, the exhibition was held under the name Electronic Entertainment Expo. In 2007 and 2008, the name was changed to the E3 Media and Business Summit, and since 2009 it has returned to the original Electronic Entertainment Expo, where it remains to this day.

FIFA 13 (iOS)

If it came down to it, Electronic Arts probably wouldn't have to try too hard, and the most popular soccer game FIFA would still sell like clockwork on iOS. However, the Romanian branch of EA, which is behind the mobile version of the upcoming FIFA 13, is constantly working on the game, so we have a lot to look forward to in the fall of this year.

The developers are trying to bring the football simulation as close as possible to the real world, so in FIFA 13 we will play in realistically created stadiums, and the players are also much more accurately modeled, so you can recognize the most famous ones "from a distance". It will also be possible to set the weather and playing time (day/night) for individual matches. Until now in FIFA there was only one control button for performing various tricks, this will change in "thirteen". With the new swipe button, it will matter in which direction you move it, and thus you will be able to perform a different trick every time. It will also be possible to easily change the mentality of your team - by dragging two fingers anywhere on the screen, you will be able to order the team either offensive or defensive tactics.

EA Sports Football Club will be implemented in the iOS version, where all the information about your achievements in the game is stored, whether you play on Xbox, PS3 or PC. FIFA 13 will be released in September for iOS, Android as well as consoles and computers, but the price has not yet been announced.

Need For Speed: Most Wanted (iOS)

At E3, Electronic Arts presented a new part of the popular racing series Need for Speed with the subtitle Most Wanted. You ask: "Most Wanted, Really?" And indeed, EA decided to release a kind of second generation of NFS: Most Wanted, the first one was already released in 2005. During the conference, only the version for consoles and computers was presented, however, EA also confirmed ports for iOS and Android devices. The studio is in charge of the console version Criterion and although it is not clear who is developing the mobile version, it may be Criterion, who already made the iOS Burnout CRASH!

EA did not provide any further details regarding the mobile version of NFS: Most Wanted during the presentation or in the press statement, however, at E3 journalists had the opportunity to try Most Wanted for iPhone and it looks really amazing in terms of graphics. The console version is to be released on October 30 of this year, while around this date we could also expect a mobile adaptation.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (Mac)

Mac gaming fans can look forward to August 21. On that day, the sequel to one of the most popular games of all time - Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - will be released for both Mac and Windows. The new version of the action shooter will of course also be released for PlayStation and Xbox, it will cost $15 and Valve will distribute it on computers via Steam.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive features new maps, characters and weapons, while also bringing an update to the original Counter-Strike, such as the "de_dust" map. In the new sequel, we can also look forward to new game modes, leaderboards, scores and more.

The Elder Scrolls Online (Mac)

ZeniMax Online Studios presented a teaser for the new title The Elder Scrolls Online at E3, but it doesn't say much about the game itself. The continuation of the successful series, this time as an MMORPG, is to be released for PC and Mac only in 2013, so there is still time for more details.

The plot of The Elder Scrolls Online will be set a thousand years before the events that took place in Skyrim (the previous version of the game), and TES Online should be characterized by the classic elements of this game series, such as the exploration of a rich world and the free development of your character. Players could already try The Elder Scrolls Online at E3, where Bethesda came to show their game due to frequent criticism. The developers were aware that the public would expect an MMO version of Skyrim, which, of course, is not quite happening, because things work a little differently in an MMO than in a classic RPG.

Amazing Spider-Man (iOS)

Several games are in the works for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movie. The development studio was responsible for the development of the mobile version Gameloft, which has already worked on a relatively successful title Spider-Man: Total Mayhem. The studio, originally from Germany, is working directly on the game with Marvel a Sony Pictures, to preserve the film's storyline.

In the game, the player will be able to move relatively freely in the metropolitan environment of New York, a large number of missions await him, an elaborate combat system, familiar characters that will also appear in the film, as well as character development, where new abilities and combat combos will gradually be unlocked . According to the images, the graphics of the game do not look bad at all, hopefully we will see similar detailed processing as with the recently released game NOVA 3. The game should be released together with the movie, i.e. on July 3, 2012.

Final Fantasy Dimensions (iOS)

The hearts of fans of this legendary series will certainly dance, because Square Enix is preparing a new game from this universe for iOS and Android called Dimensions. This is not a remake of an older work, but a completely original title. The developers have not yet revealed what story will accompany this part, however, according to them, it should be a classic plot of light, darkness and crystals.

In terms of graphics, the game resembles the first parts of the series in 16-bit graphics known from Super Nintendo, however, the game of course has a much higher resolution and more elaborate details. The controls are adapted for touch as in the previous installments, including the complex menus that are characteristic of FInal Fantasy, but the huge cross-pad on the iPad screen feels a little awkward. The game will offer classic gameplay, where you explore the vast world from a bird's eye view, and the fights, which you will get your fill of, take place in turns. There will also be an elaborate system of spells and combat skills, which is also one of the hallmarks of the series.

Dead Trigger (iOS)

Czech developer studio Madfinger, which is behind globally successful iOS/Android titles Samurai a Shadowgun, announced a new Dead Trigger game ahead of E3. Compared to the previous titles, it will be an FPS game, where it will be all about eliminating zombies. We could already see a lot of similar games, after all, several of them were also released under the Call of Duty franchise. The market for zombie titles is probably not saturated enough yet.

Dead Trigger, like Shadowgun, will build on the Unity engine, which after the Unreal Engine offers the best graphical spectacle on mobile devices. The game should also have advanced physics that will allow the undead to shoot off their limbs, moreover, all the motor skills of the characters were created using motion sensing technology, so it should be much more realistic than competing games of this genre. What's more, the enemies should have an adaptive AI that evolves during gameplay and should bring more challenges to the player. A wide arsenal of weapons and gadgets awaits you, the developers have also promised further updates in the future that will expand the named items, as well as playable characters. The release date has not yet been announced.

The Act (iOS)

The Act is based on the now almost forgotten genre of interactive films, which was started by the game Dragons' Lair (available in the App Store by the way). The player is not allowed much freedom, most of the game time is spent watching the animations, you only influence the course of the "movie" at that time. The same is true in The Act, which is subtitled Interactive Comedy. When playing, you will feel like you are controlling a Disney cartoon.

The story revolves around window washer Edgar, who tries to save his perpetually tired brother, avoid being fired from his job, and win the girl of his dreams. To succeed, he must pretend to be a doctor and fit into the hospital environment. You control the game using gestures on your iPhone or iPad, with most of the interactivity consisting of swiping left or right to influence Edgar's mood and reactions to different situations.

Note: Earlier there was news that the 9th volume should also be released for Mac tomb raider, which was already shown at last year's E3, but at this year's edition Square Enix announced a postponement until June 2013. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to find out information about the release for OS X, nor do official sources mention this platform. On the other hand, given that the episode was released very recently Tomb Raider Underworld, a new game in the series for Mac wouldn't be out of place.
