You could recently read an article with us about the arrival of the hugely anticipated Disney+ streaming service, which of course had to be responded to by the third major player in this segment – HBO with the HBO Max service. At the moment, Netflix reigns supreme here, investing a lot of money in its own production and practically constantly bringing extremely interesting films of various genres, but this could theoretically change soon. Let's therefore shed some light on the content you will find on individual platforms and how much you will pay for them.

Netflix

As we mentioned above, we can consider Netflix as the current king, mainly thanks to its strong production. This giant is behind extremely popular films, including Too Hot To Handle, Squid Game, The Witcher, La Casa de Papel, Sex Education and many others. At the same time, to make matters worse, you can also watch old well-known movies and series with high popularity on Netflix. However, the extensive offer and several own productions are reflected in the price, which is slightly higher for Netflix than for the competition.

The basic Basic subscription will cost you 199 crowns per month, while allowing you to watch content on only one device at a time, and only in standard definition. The second option is the Standard subscription for 259 crowns per month, when you can watch movies and series on two devices at the same time and enjoy Full HD resolution. The most expensive and best plan is Premium. It will cost you 319 crowns per month and allows you to watch content on up to four devices in up to 4K resolution.

Disney +

During this year, domestic fans will finally see the launch of the long-awaited Disney+ service. Disney is a huge giant that owns the rights to a huge amount of content, which the platform will understandably benefit from. If you are a fan of Marvel movies (Iron Man, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Thor, Captain America, Avengers, Eternals, etc.), the Star Wars saga, Pixar films or the Simpsons series, then believe that you will never get bored with Disney+ you definitely won't. As for the price, question marks still hang over it. While Disney charges 7,99 dollars in the United States, it is 8,99 euros in countries where payment is made in euros. In that case, the price could easily exceed two hundred per month, which is still a lower price than Netflix in the end.

 TV+

Although the  TV+ service is not as popular as its competitors, it definitely has something to offer. The Cupertino giant specializes in its own creations. Although the library is not the largest and cannot compare with the others, you will find a lot of quality titles in it. Among the most famous ones, we can point out, for example, Ted Lasso, The Morning Show and See. In terms of price, Apple only charges 139 crowns per month. But at the same time, when you buy a new device with a bitten apple logo, you get 3 months on the  TV+ platform completely free, based on which you can then decide whether the service is worth it.

HBO Max

A platform called HBO GO is currently available in our region. It already offers a lot of great content in itself, thanks to which you can watch films from Warner Bros., Adult Swim and others. This can especially please fans of the Harry Potter saga, the movie Tenet, Shrek or the series The Big Bang Theory. But HBO Max noticeably expands the entire library with a lot of other content, with which you will definitely not get bored. In addition, the price should also please. Although the aforementioned version of HBO GO will cost 159 crowns, you will have to pay 40 crowns more for the HBO Max version, or 199 crowns.

HBO Max

From the point of view of price and overall content, HBO Max will definitely not be a game changer and can be expected to take a solid position in the segment of streaming services. As we already mentioned in the introduction, with this step HBO is probably reacting to the recent news from the Disney company, which officially confirmed the arrival of its platform in the countries of Central Europe.

A wide range of services

The range of streaming platforms is growing quite nicely, which is definitely a good thing. Thanks to this, we have much more quality content at our fingertips, which otherwise we would have to find difficult, or even not get to. Of course, the best part is the choice. After all, everyone can like something different, and just because most people like Netflix, it doesn't mean that it applies to everyone. Which service is your favorite and will you try the expected platforms like HBO Max or Disney+?
